Setup

1. Initial Winding

As an automatic mechanical watch, the G6691 is powered by the motion of your wrist. However, for initial use or after a period of inactivity, it requires manual winding to build up its power reserve.

  • Ensure the crown is in position 1 (fully pushed in).
  • Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will manually wind the mainspring and start the watch.
  • The watch will continue to wind automatically with regular wear.

2. Setting Time and Date

  1. Setting the Time:
    • Pull the crown out to position 3 (farthest out).
    • Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Observe the 24-hour sub-dial (moon phase indicator) to distinguish between AM and PM.
    • Once the desired time is set, push the crown back to position 1.
  2. Setting the Date:
    • Pull the crown out to position 2 (middle position).
    • Rotate the crown to adjust the date.
    • Alternatively, use the recessed button on the side of the watch (indicated in Figure 2) with an adjustment tool to advance the date.
    • Once the desired date is set, push the crown back to position 1.
  3. Setting the Month and Year:
    • The month and year displays are independent and require manual adjustment using the recessed buttons on the side of the watch (indicated in Figure 2) with an adjustment tool.
    • Press the corresponding button to advance the month or year as needed.

3. Band Adjustment

The watch comes with a band adjustment tool. If the stainless steel bracelet is too loose or too tight, you can remove or add links to achieve a comfortable fit. It is recommended to have this procedure performed by a professional watchmaker to avoid damage to the bracelet or watch.

Operating Your Watch

1. Automatic Movement

The OLEVS G6691 features an automatic mechanical movement. This means it is powered by the natural motion of your arm. When worn regularly (approximately 8-10 hours a day), the watch will remain wound. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop. In this case, manually wind it as described in the "Initial Winding" section.

2. Moon Phase Indicator

The watch includes a moon phase indicator, which is integrated into the 24-hour sub-dial. This indicator rotates with the time, displaying a sun during daylight hours and a moon during nighttime hours, providing a visual representation of the day/night cycle.

3. Luminous Display

The hands and hour markers of the OLEVS G6691 are equipped with luminous material. After exposure to light, these elements will glow in the dark, allowing for readability in low-light conditions.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For the stainless steel bracelet, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

2. Water Resistance

The OLEVS G6691 watch is rated for 30 meters (3ATM) water resistance. This means it is suitable for daily life activities such as hand washing, splashes, sweat, and rain. It is not suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, diving, or any water sports. Avoid exposing the watch to hot water, steam (e.g., hot springs, saunas), or sudden changes in water pressure, as this can compromise the water seals.

3. Storage

When not wearing the watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. For prolonged storage, consider using a watch winder to keep the automatic movement running and lubricated.

4. Regular Servicing

Mechanical watches benefit from periodic servicing (typically every 3-5 years) by a qualified watchmaker. This involves cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting the movement to ensure optimal performance and accuracy over time.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Watch stops or runs intermittently.Insufficient power reserve.Manually wind the watch by rotating the crown clockwise 30-40 times. Wear the watch regularly to keep it wound.
Time is inaccurate (running fast or slow).Exposure to strong magnetic fields; need for regulation.Keep the watch away from strong magnets. If inaccuracy persists, consult a professional watchmaker for regulation.
Date or month does not change correctly.Incorrect setting; setting during restricted hours.Avoid setting the date/month between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the gears engage for automatic change. Adjust manually using the crown or recessed buttons.
