3. Setup and Installation

The cooktop can be used as a freestanding countertop appliance or integrated into your kitchen counter. Ensure proper ventilation and electrical connections are made by a qualified professional.

3.1 Electrical Connection

This cooktop is designed for a 110V electrical supply. It features a standard plug for direct connection to a compatible outlet. For built-in installations, ensure the wiring is properly routed and secured.

3.2 Countertop Use

For countertop use, attach the provided rubber feet to the bottom of the cooktop. Place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant, and level surface, ensuring adequate clearance from walls and other appliances for ventilation.

3.3 Built-in Installation

To integrate the cooktop into your kitchen counter, a cutout of approximately 19.7 x 11 inches (500mm x 280mm) is required. Ensure the cutout dimensions match the cooktop's specifications for a secure fit. Apply the provided sealing tape around the edges of the cooktop before placing it into the cutout to prevent liquid ingress.

Note: The cooktop is hardwired internally for the heating elements. The 110V plug is for the overall power supply. If replacing an existing cooktop, ensure the cutout dimensions are compatible or adjusted as necessary.

4. Operating Instructions

Your Karinear electric cooktop is designed for ease of use with intuitive knob controls for each burner.

4.1 Powering On/Off and Heat Adjustment

  1. Ensure the cooktop is properly connected to a 110V power source.
  2. Place appropriate cookware on the desired burner.
  3. Rotate the corresponding control knob clockwise to select a heat level from 1 (low) to 9 (high). The indicator light will illuminate next to the knob.
  4. To turn off a burner, rotate the knob counter-clockwise to the '0' position.

4.2 Residual Heat Indicator

After a burner is turned off, an "H" will flash on the display next to the corresponding knob if the glass surface is still hot. This indicator will remain active until the temperature drops to a safe level, preventing accidental burns.

4.3 Over-Temperature Protection

The cooktop is equipped with an over-temperature protection system that automatically shuts down the burner if it detects excessive heat, safeguarding the appliance and preventing damage.
