1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your BEYOND HEAT BH650 Electric Baseboard Heater. Please read all instructions carefully before use and retain this manual for future reference.

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions before using this heater.
  2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
  4. Always unplug the heater when not in use.
  5. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater or return to authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
  6. Do not use outdoors.
  7. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
  8. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
  9. To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet.
  10. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  11. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  12. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
  13. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  14. Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
  15. This heater is ETL approved for safety and reliability in the US.

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Retain the packaging for off-season storage. Ensure all components are present and undamaged. If any parts are missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble or operate the heater. Contact customer support.

4.2 Placement

  • Place the heater on a firm, level surface.
  • Ensure there is at least 3 feet (0.9 m) of clearance from walls, furniture, and other combustible materials.
  • Do not place the heater directly below a power outlet.
  • This heater is designed for indoor use only.
  • Avoid placing the heater in high-traffic areas where it could be easily tripped over.

4.3 Power Connection

Plug the power cord directly into a 120V AC, 60Hz wall outlet. Do not use extension cords, power strips, or surge protectors with this heater.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the ON/OFF button on the control panel to turn the heater on or off.

5.2 Adjusting Thermostat

When the heater is on, the digital display will show the current room temperature. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set your desired temperature. The heater will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.

5.3 Selecting Heat Settings

Press the MODE button to cycle between the two heat settings: Low Heat (750W) and High Heat (1500W). The display will indicate the selected mode.

5.4 Timer Function

To set the timer, press the TIMER button. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to select the desired operating duration, from 1 to 12 hours. The heater will automatically turn off once the set time has elapsed.

6. Safety Features

6.1 Overheat Protection

The heater is equipped with an internal safety device that automatically turns off the unit if it overheats. This typically occurs if the air inlets or outlets are blocked. If this happens, unplug the heater, allow it to cool down for a few minutes, and remove any obstructions before plugging it back in and restarting. If the issue persists, contact customer support.

6.2 Tip-Over Protection

The heater includes a safety tip-over switch that automatically shuts off the unit if it is accidentally knocked over. If the heater tips over, it will stop operating. Place the heater upright on a stable surface to resume operation.

7. Maintenance and Care

7.1 Cleaning

  • Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure no water or other liquids enter the interior of the heater.
  • Periodically clean the air intake and exhaust grilles with a vacuum cleaner attachment to remove dust and lint.

7.2 Storage

When not in use, store the heater in a cool, dry location. It is recommended to store it in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage.
