MIPRO ACT-312/ACT-32T2 Dual-Channel Bodypack Wireless System User Manual

Model: ACT-312 Receiver, ACT-32T2 Bodypack Transmitters

Introduction

The MIPRO ACT-312/ACT-32T2 Dual-Channel Bodypack Wireless System is designed for professional audio applications, providing crystal-clear sound transmission for singers, presenters, and performers. This system features a dual-channel UHF receiver (ACT-312) and two bodypack transmitters (ACT-32T2), allowing simultaneous operation of two microphones. Key features include MIPRO's Automatic Channel Targeting (ACT) technology for streamlined synchronization, AutoScan for interference-free frequency selection, and diversity technology to minimize signal dropouts.

Two MIPRO ACT-32T2 Bodypack Transmitters are positioned above the receiver, each with a green display and an antenna. The entire system is black, indicating its professional design.

Setup

Proper setup ensures optimal performance and reliable wireless operation.

  1. Unpacking and Inspection: Carefully unpack all components. Verify that the package contains the ACT-312 receiver, two ACT-32T2 bodypack transmitters, antennas, power adapter, and any included accessories. Inspect for any visible damage.
  2. Receiver Placement: Place the ACT-312 receiver on a stable, flat surface, away from large metal objects or other wireless devices that may cause interference. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  3. Antenna Connection: Screw the provided antennas firmly onto the antenna connectors on the rear of the ACT-312 receiver. Position them vertically for best reception.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the supplied power adapter to the DC input on the rear of the ACT-312 receiver, then plug it into a suitable AC power outlet.
  5. Audio Output Connection: Connect the audio output of the ACT-312 receiver to your mixer, amplifier, or audio interface using appropriate XLR or 1/4" cables (not included).
  6. Transmitter Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment on each ACT-32T2 bodypack transmitter and insert two fresh AA batteries, observing polarity.
  7. Microphone Connection (Transmitter): Connect your lavalier or headset microphone (compatible with MIPRO's mini-XLR connector) to the input jack on the ACT-32T2 bodypack transmitter.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for effective operation of your wireless system.

  1. Power On:
    • Turn on the ACT-312 receiver using the power button on the front panel. The display will illuminate.
    • Turn on each ACT-32T2 bodypack transmitter by pressing and holding its power button.
  2. Frequency Scan (AutoScan):
    • On the ACT-312 receiver, press the "Scan" button. The receiver will automatically scan for the clearest available frequencies in your environment.
    • Once a clear frequency is found, the receiver will display it.
  3. Transmitter-Receiver Synchronization (ACT):
    • With the receiver displaying the desired frequency, align the IR port on the ACT-32T2 bodypack transmitter with the IR port on the ACT-312 receiver (usually located on the front panel).
    • Press the "ACT" button on the receiver. The frequency information will be automatically transferred to the transmitter. The transmitter's display should now match the receiver's frequency. Repeat for the second transmitter.
  4. Gain Adjustment:
    • Adjust the gain (input sensitivity) on each ACT-32T2 bodypack transmitter to prevent distortion. Start with a lower setting and gradually increase it while speaking or singing into the microphone at your typical performance level. The receiver's RF and AF indicators will help monitor signal strength and audio levels.
  5. System Test:
    • Speak or sing into the connected microphone. Verify that audio is being received by the ACT-312 receiver and outputted to your sound system. Adjust the receiver's volume control as needed.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps prolong the life and performance of your wireless system.

Troubleshooting

Refer to this section for common issues and their solutions.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No audio output
  • Receiver not powered on.
  • Transmitter not powered on.
  • Transmitter and receiver not synchronized.
  • Low or dead transmitter batteries.
  • Audio cables disconnected or faulty.
  • Mixer/amplifier input level too low.
  • Ensure receiver is powered on.
  • Ensure transmitter is powered on.
  • Perform ACT synchronization.
  • Replace transmitter batteries.
  • Check all audio cable connections.
  • Increase input level on mixer/amplifier.
Interference or static
  • Nearby electronic devices.
  • Other wireless systems on the same frequency.
  • Weak signal due to distance or obstacles.
  • Relocate receiver away from interference sources.
  • Perform AutoScan to find a clear frequency.
  • Ensure line-of-sight between transmitter and receiver; reduce distance.
Distorted audio
  • Transmitter gain too high.
  • Receiver output level too high.
  • Reduce gain on the ACT-32T2 transmitter.
  • Lower the volume output on the ACT-312 receiver.
Short operating range
  • Antennas improperly positioned.
  • Obstacles blocking signal.
  • Low transmitter battery.
  • Ensure antennas are vertical and unobstructed.
  • Maintain line-of-sight; avoid placing receiver behind large objects.
  • Replace transmitter batteries.
