The Keychron B1 Pro is an ultra-slim wireless keyboard designed for versatility and portability. It supports multiple connection modes and operating systems.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Keyboard

The keyboard comes with a built-in rechargeable battery. Before first use, or when the battery is low, connect the keyboard to a power source using the provided Type-C cable.

  • Connect the Type-C end of the cable to the keyboard's charging port.
  • Connect the USB-A end to a computer's USB port or a USB wall adapter.
  • The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

3.2 Selecting Operating System Mode

The B1 Pro keyboard is compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux. Use the OS switch located on the side of the keyboard to select the correct operating system mode.

3.3 Connecting the Keyboard

The Keychron B1 Pro supports three connection modes: 2.4 GHz Wireless, Bluetooth, and Wired (USB Type-C).

3.3.1 2.4 GHz Wireless Connection

  1. Locate the 2.4GHz receiver (USB dongle) included in the package.
  2. Plug the 2.4GHz receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Slide the connection mode switch on the keyboard to the "2.4G" position.
  4. The keyboard should automatically connect.

3.3.2 Bluetooth Connection

  1. Slide the connection mode switch on the keyboard to the "BT" (Bluetooth) position.
  2. On your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  3. Select "Keychron B1 Pro" from the list of available devices to pair.
  4. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

3.3.3 Wired Connection

  1. Connect the Type-C end of the cable to the keyboard's port.
  2. Connect the USB-A end (or Type-C with adapter) to your computer's USB port.
  3. Slide the connection mode switch on the keyboard to the "Cable" position.
  4. The keyboard will function as a wired device and charge simultaneously.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Key Remapping and Macros

The Keychron B1 Pro supports key remapping and macro creation through the Keychron Launcher web application or ZMK firmware.

  1. Ensure your keyboard is connected to your computer.
  2. Open a compatible web browser (Chrome, Edge, Opera) and navigate to the Keychron Launcher website.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to customize key assignments and create macros. No software download is required.

4.2 Special Functions

The keyboard includes dedicated function keys and shortcuts for enhanced productivity.

  • Function Keys (F1-F12): These keys perform multimedia and system functions. The primary function can be accessed directly, while the secondary function (F1-F12) is typically accessed by holding the Fn key.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Keyboard

  • Place the silicone skin directly over the keyboard's keys.
  • Ensure it is properly aligned for full coverage.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Keychron B1 Pro keyboard, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Keyboard not responding: Ensure the keyboard is charged. Check the connection mode switch (2.4G, BT, Cable) and ensure it matches your desired connection method. For wired mode, try a different USB port or cable.
  • Bluetooth pairing issues: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the keyboard is in Bluetooth pairing mode. Try unpairing and re-pairing the keyboard. Ensure no other devices are interfering with the Bluetooth signal.
  • 2.4 GHz connection issues: Ensure the 2.4GHz receiver is securely plugged into a USB port. Try a different USB port. Ensure the keyboard is set to 2.4G mode.
  • Keys not working correctly: Check for any debris under the keycaps. If using Keychron Launcher, ensure no accidental remapping has occurred. Reset the layout if necessary.
  • Battery life shorter than expected: Ensure the keyboard is fully charged. Usage patterns and environmental factors can affect battery life.
