6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Lens
- Use a blower brush to remove dust and loose particles from the lens surface.
- For smudges or fingerprints, use a clean, soft microfiber cloth specifically designed for optics, along with a lens cleaning solution. Apply the solution to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
- Wipe gently in a circular motion from the center outwards.
6.2 Storage
- Always attach the front and rear lens caps when the lens is not in use.
- Store the lens in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If storing for extended periods, consider using a dehumidifying agent to prevent mold growth.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Image is blurry/out of focus
- Ensure the lens is correctly focused using your camera's focus peaking or magnification features.
- Check if the lens elements are clean and free from smudges or dust.
7.2 Lens not attaching to camera
- Verify that the lens mount type (Sony E-mount) matches your camera.
- Ensure the red alignment dots on both the lens and camera are correctly matched before rotating to lock.
7.3 Dust or debris inside the lens
- Minor dust particles inside a lens are common and rarely affect image quality.
- If large debris is visible and affecting images, contact customer support for professional cleaning. Do not attempt to disassemble the lens yourself.
