5. Operation

5.1 Adjusting Fluid Head (Tilt and Pan)

The VA-5X fluid head provides smooth movement for video recording.

  • Tilt Adjustment: Loosen the tilt lock knob. Adjust the camera to the desired vertical angle (-60° to +90°). Tighten the tilt lock knob to secure the position.
  • Pan Adjustment: Loosen the pan lock knob at the base of the head. Rotate the camera horizontally (360°). Tighten the pan lock knob to secure the position.

5.2 Using the Handle

The integrated handle allows for precise and smooth control of the fluid head's pan and tilt movements. Adjust the handle's position for comfortable operation by loosening and tightening its locking mechanism.

5.3 Using the Weight Hook

A weight hook is located at the bottom of the tripod spider. This hook can be used to hang additional weight (e.g., a camera bag) to increase the tripod's stability, especially in windy conditions or when using heavy camera setups.

  • Clean sand or grit from leg locks and joints immediately to prevent wear.
