3.2 Mounting Location Selection

Choose a location that provides optimal coverage for the desired area. Consider the following:

  • The motion sensor has a 180° sensing angle and can detect motion up to 72 feet away.
  • The light heads can be adjusted to illuminate an area up to 250°.
  • Ensure the chosen location is free from obstructions that might block the sensor's view or the light's output.
  • The unit is IP65 waterproof, suitable for outdoor exposure to rain, sleet, and snow.

4. Operating Instructions

The Onforu motion sensor light features adjustable settings for optimal performance.

4.1 Adjusting Sensor Settings

The motion sensor has three adjustable knobs:

  • TIME (5s-30s): Adjusts the duration the light stays on after motion is detected.
  • LUX (80-2000lux): Sets the ambient illuminance value at which the light will activate.
    • "+" setting: Light will be triggered at sunset/dusk when motion is detected.
    • "-" setting: Light will be triggered at night when motion is detected.
  • DISTANCE (19.7ft-72ft): Adjusts the motion detection range.

Figure 4.2: This diagram explains the functionality of the TIME, LUX, and DISTANCE adjustment knobs on the motion sensor. It shows how to set the lighting duration, ambient light sensitivity (day/dusk/night), and detection range.

4.2 Motion Activation

The light will only activate when motion is detected and the ambient illuminance is below the set LUX value. During daylight hours, the light will not turn on even if motion is detected.

Figure 4.3: This image illustrates the motion-activated behavior of the light. During the day, the light remains off. At night or at sunset/dusk, when motion is detected, the light will come on for the set duration (5-30 seconds).

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Onforu motion sensor light, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the light fixture and sensor lens with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, or debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all 4 D-size batteries when the light's brightness diminishes or it stops activating. Always use new, high-quality batteries for best performance.
  • Inspection: Regularly check the mounting for security and ensure no external damage to the unit.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Onforu motion sensor light, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Light does not turn on at night.
  • 1. Batteries are dead or low.
  • 2. LUX setting is too high (set to day mode).
  • 3. Motion sensor is obstructed.
  • 1. Replace all 4 D-size batteries.
  • 2. Adjust the LUX knob to a lower setting (towards the "-" symbol).
  • 3. Clear any obstructions from the sensor's view.
Light stays on too long or too short.TIME setting is incorrect.Adjust the TIME knob to the desired duration (5s-30s).
Motion detection range is too short or too long.DISTANCE setting is incorrect.Adjust the DISTANCE knob to the desired range (19.7ft-72ft).
Light flickers or is dim.Low battery power.Replace all 4 D-size batteries.
