5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and performance of your BWE shower system.

5.1 Cleaning the Finish

To maintain the antique brass finish, clean regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish. Mild soap and water can be used for tougher spots, followed by rinsing and drying.

5.2 Shower Head Maintenance

The rain shower head includes a filter to prevent clogging. Periodically check and clean the filter as needed to ensure optimal water flow. The silicone nozzles on the shower head can be gently rubbed to dislodge mineral deposits.

5.3 Leak Prevention

All connections are equipped with rubber gaskets to prevent water leakage. If you notice any leaks, first ensure all connections are securely tightened. If leaks persist, check the condition of the rubber gaskets and replace if necessary.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your shower system.

6.1 Low Water Pressure

  • Check Water Supply: Ensure the main water supply valve is fully open.
  • Clean Shower Head: Mineral deposits can reduce water flow. Clean the nozzles of the rain shower head and check the internal filter for blockages.
  • Inspect Hose: Ensure the handheld shower hose is not kinked or obstructed.

6.2 Leaks from Connections

  • Tighten Connections: Gently tighten all visible connections, especially where the faucet body meets the wall and where the hose connects. Do not overtighten.
  • Check Gaskets: Ensure all rubber gaskets are properly seated and not damaged. Replace any worn or damaged gaskets.
  • Plumber's Tape: For threaded connections, ensure sufficient plumber's tape was applied during installation.

6.3 Difficulty Adjusting Shower Height

  • Loosen Knob: Ensure the height adjustment knob on the vertical pipe is sufficiently loosened before attempting to slide the pipe.
  • Lubrication: If the pipe is stiff, a small amount of silicone grease can be applied to the sliding surfaces (ensure it is safe for plumbing materials).
