Setup

  1. **Unpack:** Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. **Initial Cleaning:** Before first use, wash the egg trays, poaching trays, omelette bowls, measuring cups, and lids in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the heating plate with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the appliance base in water.
  3. **Placement:** Place the egg cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and heat. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.

Operating Instructions

Boiling Eggs (Soft, Medium, Hard)

  1. Using the measuring cup, fill with cold water up to the line corresponding to your desired egg consistency (Soft, Medium, or Hard). The measuring cup is marked for different levels of doneness.
  2. Pour the measured water directly onto the heating plate of the appliance base.
  3. Carefully pierce the large end of each egg with the piercing pin located at the bottom of the measuring cup. This helps prevent cracking during cooking.
  4. Place the pierced eggs onto the egg tray(s) with the pierced end facing upwards. For the Deluxe model, you can stack both trays.
  5. Place the egg tray(s) onto the appliance base. Cover with the transparent lid.
  6. Plug the appliance into a power outlet. Press the power button to start cooking. The indicator light will illuminate.
  7. The egg cooker will automatically shut off and an audible alert will sound when the water has evaporated and the eggs are cooked to your desired consistency.
  8. Carefully remove the lid (steam will be hot) and the egg tray(s) using oven mitts or a towel.
  9. For best results with hard-boiled eggs, immediately transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process and facilitate easier peeling.

Poaching Eggs

  1. Fill the measuring cup with water up to the "Poached" line. Pour water onto the heating plate.
  2. Lightly grease the poaching tray with cooking spray or butter.
  3. Crack eggs directly into the poaching tray cups.
  4. Place the poaching tray onto the appliance base (on top of the egg tray if using the Deluxe model). Cover with the lid.
  5. Press the power button. The cooker will alert you when done.

Making Omelettes or Scrambled Eggs

  1. Fill the measuring cup with water up to the "Omelette" line. Pour water onto the heating plate.
  2. Lightly grease the omelette bowl.
  3. Whisk eggs in the omelette bowl with desired ingredients (cheese, vegetables, etc.).
  4. Place the omelette bowl onto the appliance base (on top of the egg tray if using the Deluxe model). Cover with the lid.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your DASH Egg Cookers.

  1. **Always unplug** the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. **Removable Parts:** The egg trays, poaching trays, omelette bowls, measuring cups, and lids are BPA-free and dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash them in warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
  3. **Heating Plate:** Wipe the heating plate with a damp cloth. For stubborn mineral deposits (which may appear as white or rust-colored spots due to hard water), you can use a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 9 parts water. Pour a small amount onto the heating plate and let it sit for a few minutes, then gently scrub with a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Rinse by wiping with a clean, damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.
  4. **Exterior:** Wipe the exterior of the appliance base with a damp cloth.
  5. **Storage:** Store the clean and dry egg cooker in a cool, dry place.
