Operating Instructions
Brewing Coffee:
- Open the top lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water to the desired level, indicated by the cup markings on the side of the reservoir. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.

- Close the top lid securely.
- Place the empty glass carafe onto the warming plate.
- Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
- Press the ON/OFF button to start the brewing process. The indicator light will illuminate.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Daily Cleaning:
- Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning and allow it to cool completely.
- Remove the filter basket and reusable filter. Discard used coffee grounds.
- Wash the carafe, filter basket, and reusable filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are also top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Clean the warming plate with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive materials.
Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal):
Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker and affect its performance. Regular descaling is recommended every 2-3 months, or more frequently in areas with hard water.
- Prepare a descaling solution by mixing white vinegar and cold water in equal parts. For a 12-cup coffee maker, approximately 6 cups of vinegar and 6 cups of water should be sufficient.
- Pour the solution into the water reservoir.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Press the ON/OFF button to start a brew cycle. Allow half of the solution to brew through.
- Press the ON/OFF button again to pause the brewing and let the solution soak for at least 15 minutes to loosen deposits.
- Resume the brew cycle by pressing the ON/OFF button again, allowing the remaining solution to brew through.
- Discard the solution from the carafe.
- Run at least two full cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse the coffee maker thoroughly and remove any residual vinegar taste.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee does not brew. | Coffee maker not plugged in; power outage; ON/OFF button not pressed; water reservoir empty; carafe not properly placed. | Ensure unit is plugged in; check power supply; press ON/OFF button; fill water reservoir; ensure carafe is correctly seated on warming plate. |
| Coffee is too weak or too strong. | Incorrect coffee-to-water ratio; incorrect grind size; STRONG brew setting not used (for strong coffee). | Adjust amount of coffee grounds; use medium grind for drip coffee makers; activate STRONG brew setting for bolder flavor. |
| Water overflows from filter basket. | Too much coffee grounds; filter basket not properly seated; paper filter collapsed; mineral buildup. | Reduce coffee grounds; ensure filter basket is correctly in place; use a high-quality paper filter or ensure reusable filter is clean; descale the coffee maker. |
| Coffee tastes bad. | Old or stale coffee; dirty coffee maker; improper water quality. | Use fresh coffee beans/grounds; clean coffee maker thoroughly (including descaling); use filtered water. |
| Clock/Timer not working. | Power interruption; incorrect setting. | Reset the clock; ensure PROG button is pressed to activate delayed brew. |
