6.1 Navigating the Interface

The device uses a capacitive HD IPS screen. Use touch gestures to navigate through menus and select options. The bottom of the screen typically displays navigation icons for different functions (e.g., Home, Data, Settings).

6.2 Taking a Measurement

  1. Ensure the device is powered on and fully charged.
  2. Place the sensor aperture of the spectrometer against the material you wish to measure (e.g., film, tinted glass). Ensure there is no gap between the sensor and the material to prevent ambient light interference.
  3. On the main screen (similar to Figure 6.1), initiate the measurement. This may involve pressing a dedicated measurement button or a 'Start' icon on the screen.
  4. The device will display real-time spectral data, illuminance, correlated color temperature, and other relevant parameters.
  5. To save the measurement, look for a 'Save' or 'Record' option on the screen. Saved data can be reviewed later in the 'Data' section.

6.3 Data Management

The 8GB internal storage allows for extensive data logging. Access saved measurements through the 'Data' menu. You can typically view, delete, or export data from this section. Refer to the on-screen prompts for specific data management options.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device exterior with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
  • For the screen, use a screen-specific cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong chemicals, as they may damage the device.
  • Keep the sensor aperture clean and free of dust or debris to ensure accurate readings. Use a soft brush or compressed air if necessary.

7.2 Storage

When not in use, store the spectrometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. It is recommended to store it in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your spectrometer, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device does not power on:
    • Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect it to a power source and wait for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
    • Try a different charging cable or power adapter.
  • Inaccurate readings:
    • Clean the sensor aperture to remove any dust or smudges.
    • Ensure the sensor is placed flush against the material being measured, with no gaps.
    • Perform a calibration if the device supports it (refer to settings menu).
  • Screen is unresponsive:
    • Restart the device by holding the power button.
    • Ensure your fingers are clean and dry when interacting with the touchscreen.
