4. Setup & Installation

Follow these steps to install your Tapo A201 Solar Panel and connect it to your compatible Tapo camera.

4.1. Choose an Installation Location

Select a location that receives ample direct sunlight throughout the day for optimal charging. The 4-meter cable provides flexibility to mount the solar panel separately from the camera.

4.2. Mount the Solar Panel

  1. Mark Drill Holes: Use the provided mounting template to mark the positions for drilling on a sturdy, flat surface.
  2. Drill Holes: Drill holes (6mm diameter) at the marked positions. Insert the wall anchors into the drilled holes.
  3. Attach Mounting Bracket: Align the solar panel's mounting bracket with the anchors and secure it with screws.
  4. Attach Solar Panel: Slide the solar panel onto the mounting bracket until it clicks into place.
  5. Adjust Angle: Loosen the adjustment screw on the bracket, adjust the solar panel's direction to face the sun (recommended angle 35°-45° relative to the ground), then tighten the screw.

4.3. Connect to Camera

  1. Connect Cable: Plug the 4-meter charging cable from the solar panel into the USB-C charging port of your compatible Tapo camera.
