Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning is crucial to prevent mineral buildup and ensure optimal performance and hygiene of your humidifier. Always unplug the unit before cleaning.

Daily Maintenance

  • Empty the water tank and base unit daily.
  • Rinse the water tank and base unit with fresh water.
  • Refill the tank with clean, cool tap water before each use.

Weekly Cleaning (Mineral Buildup Removal)

  1. Unplug and Disassemble: Unplug the humidifier and remove the water tank and mist nozzle.
  2. Clean Water Tank: Pour 2 cups (500ml) of undiluted white vinegar into the water tank. Swish the vinegar around to coat all interior surfaces. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  3. Clean Base Unit: Carefully pour 1 cup (250ml) of undiluted white vinegar into the base unit, ensuring it covers the ultrasonic transducer (the small metal disc). Let it soak for 30 minutes.
  4. Scrub and Rinse:
    • For the water tank, use a soft brush or cloth to clean the interior.
    • For the base unit, gently scrub the ultrasonic transducer with a soft brush (e.g., a toothbrush). Do not apply excessive force.
  5. Rinse Thoroughly: Pour out the vinegar from both the tank and base. Rinse both components thoroughly with clean water until the smell of vinegar is gone.
  6. Dry: Wipe all surfaces dry with a clean cloth before reassembling.

Note: Do not use harsh detergents, abrasive cleaners, or metal brushes, as these can damage the humidifier.

Storage

When storing the humidifier for an extended period:

  • Perform a thorough weekly cleaning as described above.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry before storage.
  • Store the humidifier in its original packaging or a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
