Heating Technology Explained

Diagram comparing Infrared Heater and Space Heater

This image illustrates the difference between infrared and space heaters. Infrared heaters provide direct, radiant heat, warming objects and people instantly. Space heaters, like the EconoHome panel, circulate warm air to evenly heat entire rooms, maintaining a consistent temperature.

Convection Heating Principle

Diagram showing warm air circulation from a wall heater

The EconoHome Wall Heater operates primarily by convection. Air is heated behind the panel, rises, and circulates throughout the room, providing uniform heating. Some radiant heat is also emitted from the panel's surface.

Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your EconoHome Wall Heater. Ensure the installation surface is clean and dry before beginning.

Required Tools

Mounting the Heater

  1. Position the Template: Use the provided paper template to mark the desired location for your heater on the wall. Ensure it is level and positioned correctly.
  2. Install Wall Anchors: Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. Insert the self-drilling wall anchors into the drywall until flush with the wall surface.
  3. Apply Heat Reflector: Peel the backing from the included heat reflector film and carefully apply it to the wall within the marked area, ensuring it is smooth and free of bubbles. This helps reflect heat into the room rather than absorbing into the wall.
  4. Attach Standoffs: Screw the plastic standoffs into the installed wall anchors. These create a necessary air gap between the heater and the wall for optimal convection.
  5. Mount the Heater Panel: Align the holes on the heater panel with the standoffs. Secure the panel by screwing the decorative caps onto the standoffs. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the plastic threads.
