Introduction

The BOYI YK82 is a 75% layout mechanical keyboard crafted from solid aluminum alloy, offering a durable and premium typing experience. It features tri-mode connectivity (Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4G wireless, and Type-C wired), hot-swappable switches, and vibrant RGB backlighting. Setup Instructions

Tri-Mode Connection

The BOYI YK82 keyboard supports three connection modes: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4G wireless, and Type-C wired. You can easily switch between these modes to connect to various devices.

1. Bluetooth 5.0 Connection

• Toggle the switch on the back of the keyboard to 'BT' mode.
• Press Fn + 1, Fn + 2, or Fn + 3 to select a Bluetooth channel. The indicator light will flash, indicating pairing mode.
• On your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone), search for 'BOYI YK82' in the Bluetooth settings and connect. The indicator light will become solid when connected.

2. 2.4G Wireless Connection

• Toggle the switch on the back of the keyboard to '2.4G' mode.
• Remove the 2.4G USB receiver from its storage slot on the back of the keyboard.
• Insert the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer. The keyboard is now ready for use.

3. Type-C Wired Connection

• Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the keyboard and your computer. The keyboard will automatically switch to wired mode.

Operating Instructions

Multi-Function Knob

The aluminum alloy knob provides enhanced control over volume and lighting, allowing for seamless transitions between work and gaming modes.

• Press Fn + Knob: Switch between Game Mode and Office Mode.
• In Game Mode: Short press the knob to cycle through 20 different RGB lighting effects. Turn left to decrease brightness, turn right to increase brightness.
• In Office Mode: Short press the knob to mute/unmute audio. Turn left to decrease volume, turn right to increase volume.

RGB Backlighting Control

The keyboard features 16.8 million RGB cool backlight colors with adjustable brightness and flowing speed.

Linear Switches & Hot-Swap DIY Keyboard

Equipped with full POM BOYI Jadeite Green HIFI Linear switches, which provide a smooth and fast typing experience due to their consistent operating force. The full key hot-swap support allows users to easily change to other 3-pin/5-pin mechanical switches to customize their typing feel.

Troubleshooting

Connectivity Issues

• Keyboard not connecting via Bluetooth/2.4G: Ensure the keyboard is in the correct mode (BT/2.4G) and fully charged. Try re-pairing the device. For 2.4G, ensure the USB receiver is securely plugged into your computer.
• Lag or input delay in wireless mode: Switch to wired (Type-C) mode for optimal performance, especially during competitive gaming.

Lighting Issues

• RGB backlight not working or dim: Ensure the keyboard is charged. Adjust brightness using Fn + Up Arrow. Cycle through modes using Fn + Del.
• Keycaps not shining through: While the keyboard has south-facing LEDs, light transmission through some PBT keycaps might be limited. Consider replacing keycaps with better shine-through properties if this is a priority.

Key Functionality

• Keys not responding: Ensure the keyboard is properly connected and charged. If using hot-swappable switches, ensure they are seated correctly. Try restoring factory settings (Fn + Esc).
