1. Introduction and Overview

The MCHOSE K99 is a high-performance 98% layout wireless mechanical keyboard designed for both gaming and productivity. It features a unique gasket structure with six layers of sound-absorbing filling for a softer, more elastic typing experience and firm tactile feedback. The keyboard supports triple-mode connectivity, allowing seamless switching between wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth connections. Its hot-swappable design enables easy customization of switches, and vibrant RGB backlighting provides personalized aesthetics.

3. Setup

3.1 Physical Setup

Unpack the keyboard and place it on a stable surface. The MCHOSE K99 features a two-stage kickstand on the underside, allowing you to adjust the typing angle for ergonomic comfort. Gently pull out the desired stage of the kickstand until it locks into place.

3.2 Connection Modes

The K99 keyboard supports three connection modes: Wired (Type-C), 2.4GHz Wireless, and Bluetooth. A switch located on the side of the keyboard allows you to select your preferred mode.

• Wired Mode (Type-C):

  Connect the provided USB Type-C cable from the keyboard's port to your computer's USB port. Ensure the mode switch on the keyboard is set to the "OFF" or "Wired" position (if available, otherwise it will automatically detect wired connection). The keyboard will be ready for use immediately.

• 2.4GHz Wireless Mode:

  Insert the 2.4GHz wireless receiver (USB dongle) into an available USB port on your computer. Slide the mode switch on the keyboard to the "2.4G" position. The keyboard should automatically connect. If not, press and hold the FN key + DEL key for a few seconds to initiate pairing.

• Bluetooth Mode:

  Slide the mode switch on the keyboard to the "BT" position. The keyboard will enter pairing mode. On your device (PC, laptop, tablet, mobile phone), search for Bluetooth devices and select "MCHOSE K99" (or similar name) to connect. You may need to press and hold FN + 1/2/3 to switch between different Bluetooth profiles if pairing multiple devices.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Hot-Swapping Switches

The K99 keyboard features a hot-swappable PCB, allowing you to easily change mechanical switches without soldering. It supports both 3-pin and 5-pin switches.

1. Using the included keycap puller, gently remove the keycap from the switch you wish to replace.
2. Use the included switch puller to carefully grip the switch from its top and bottom clips. Pull straight up to remove the switch from the PCB.
3. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight to avoid bending.
4. Gently press the new switch into place until it clicks securely.
5. Re-attach the keycap.

4.2 RGB Backlighting Control

The K99 features vibrant 16.8 million color RGB backlighting with lower-side LEDs. Specific key combinations (often involving the FN key) are used to cycle through lighting modes, adjust brightness, and change colors. Refer to the keyboard's quick guide or manufacturer's software for detailed customization options. For example, pressing FN + DEL can often cycle through RGB lighting effects.

4.3 Battery Management

The keyboard is equipped with a 6000mAh large-capacity battery for extended wireless use. When the battery is low, the indicator light may flash. Connect the USB Type-C cable to charge the keyboard. The indicator light will typically show charging status and turn off or change color when fully charged.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your MCHOSE K99 keyboard, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Regularly clean the keycaps and keyboard body with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps using the provided puller and use compressed air to clear debris from between switches.
• Storage: Store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Liquid Exposure: Avoid spilling liquids on the keyboard. If a spill occurs, immediately disconnect the keyboard, power it off, and allow it to dry completely before reconnecting.
• Switch Care: When hot-swapping, ensure switches are inserted straight and gently to prevent bending pins or damaging the PCB sockets.
