1. Introduction

The MCHOSE K99 is a 98% layout wireless mechanical keyboard designed for versatile use across various platforms. It features a gasket structure, hot-swappable switches, triple-mode connectivity, and customizable RGB backlighting, providing a comfortable and responsive typing experience for both gaming and productivity.

2. Product Features

  • Gasket Structure and PCB Single Key Slotting: This keyboard incorporates a gasket structure with an extended integrated silicone pad and PCB single key slotting. This design enhances resilience and stability, contributing to a softer and more elastic key feel. Six layers of silencer filling are used to dampen key press echoes and provide firm tactile feedback.

3. Setup Guide

3.1. What's in the Box

3.2. Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard using the provided USB-C cable. Connect the USB-A end to a power source (computer USB port or wall adapter) and the USB-C end to the keyboard's port.

3.3. Connecting the Keyboard

The MCHOSE K99 supports three connection modes: Wired, 2.4GHz Wireless, and Bluetooth.

3.3.1. Wired Connection

  1. Locate the USB-C port on the keyboard.
  2. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard and the USB-A end to your computer.
  3. Ensure the mode switch on the keyboard is set to 'Wired' or 'OFF' (depending on model, 'OFF' usually defaults to wired when connected).
  4. The keyboard will be automatically recognized by your system.

3.3.2. 2.4GHz Wireless Connection

  1. Locate the 2.4GHz USB receiver (often stored in a slot on the keyboard).
  2. Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Slide the mode switch on the keyboard to the '2.4G' position.
  4. The keyboard should connect automatically.

3.3.3. Bluetooth Connection

  1. Slide the mode switch on the keyboard to the 'BT' position.
  2. On your device (PC, laptop, tablet, phone), go to Bluetooth settings.
  3. Search for new devices and select 'MCHOSE K99' (or similar name) from the list.
  4. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Basic Keyboard Use

The MCHOSE K99 functions as a standard 98% layout keyboard. All keys perform their labeled functions. The numeric keypad is included for data entry.

4.2. RGB Backlighting Control

The keyboard features customizable RGB backlighting. To cycle through different lighting effects and colors, press the Fn key in combination with the DEL key. Continue pressing Fn + DEL to explore various pre-set lighting patterns.

4.3. Adjustable Typing Angle

The keyboard is equipped with two-stage adjustable kickstands on the underside. Flip out the kickstands to your preferred height for a more ergonomic typing position.

5. Customization

5.1. Hot-swappable Switches

The MCHOSE K99 allows for easy replacement of mechanical switches without soldering. Use the included switch puller tool to carefully remove existing switches and insert new 3-pin or 5-pin compatible switches.

5.2. Keycap Replacement

To change keycaps, use the included keycap puller tool. Gently attach the puller to the keycap and pull upwards. Align new keycaps with the switch stem and press down firmly until seated.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Keyboard

  • Disconnect the keyboard from your device before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe the keycaps and chassis.
  • For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps using the keycap puller and use compressed air to clear debris from between switches.
  • Ensure the keyboard is completely dry before reconnecting.

6.2. Battery Care

  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.
  • Charge the keyboard using the provided USB-C cable.
  • Store the keyboard in a cool, dry place if not in use for extended periods.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Keyboard Not Connecting

  • Wired: Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable.
  • 2.4GHz: Ensure the USB receiver is properly inserted and the keyboard mode switch is set to '2.4G'. Try a different USB port for the receiver.
  • Bluetooth: Ensure the keyboard mode switch is set to 'BT' and your device's Bluetooth is enabled. Remove any previous pairings of the keyboard from your device's Bluetooth settings and attempt to re-pair.
  • Battery: Check if the keyboard battery is charged. Connect it via USB-C to charge.

7.2. RGB Backlighting Issues

  • If RGB lights are not working, ensure the keyboard is powered on and charged.
  • Press Fn + DEL to cycle through lighting modes.
  • Consult the manufacturer's website for any specific software or drivers required for advanced RGB customization.

7.3. Keys Not Responding

  • If individual keys are not responding, try removing and re-seating the switch using the switch puller.
  • Ensure no debris is lodged under the keycap or switch.
