3.2 First Use

After battery installation, the pedometer should power on automatically and display '0' steps. If not, press the 'RESET' button briefly to activate the display.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Turning On/Off

The pedometer features intelligent power saving. It will automatically enter sleep mode after a period of inactivity to conserve battery. It will wake up and resume counting automatically when movement is detected.

4.2 Counting Steps

The Ankilo 3D Pedometer uses a sensitive 3D sensor to detect your steps. To ensure accuracy and prevent false counts from incidental movements, the pedometer will only begin counting steps after detecting 10 consecutive steps. Once this threshold is met, it will count all subsequent steps.

4.3 Resetting Steps

To reset your step count to zero, press and hold the 'RESET' button located on the front of the pedometer for approximately 5 seconds. The display will clear to '0'.

4.4 Wearing Options

The pedometer is designed to be worn in various ways for convenience and accurate tracking:

  • Clip: Attach the detachable clip to your waistband, belt, or pocket.
  • Lanyard: Use the included lanyard to wear the pedometer around your neck.
  • Pocket/Bag: Place the pedometer inside your pocket or a bag. Ensure it remains upright for optimal accuracy.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean your pedometer, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water, as this can damage the electronics.

5.2 Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or the pedometer stops responding, it's time to replace the battery. Follow the instructions in Section 3.1 for battery installation, ensuring you use a new CR-2032 battery.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Pedometer Not Counting Steps

  • Ensure the battery is properly installed and has sufficient charge.
  • Remember that the pedometer requires 10 consecutive steps to activate counting. Try walking more than 10 steps continuously.
  • Check if the pedometer is securely attached and not swinging excessively, which might affect sensor accuracy.

6.2 Display Issues

  • If the display is dim or blank, replace the battery.
  • If the display shows erratic numbers, try resetting the pedometer by holding the 'RESET' button for 5 seconds.

6.3 Inaccurate Readings

  • Ensure the pedometer is worn in a stable position (e.g., clipped to a waistband, in a pocket, or on a lanyard) and not swinging freely.
  • The 3D sensor is designed to be accurate, but extreme movements or very short, shuffling steps might not be registered as full steps.
