5. Setup Instructions

5.1. Download the Smart Life App

The EIGHTREE Smart Plug ET26 operates with the Smart Life application. Download the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

5.2. Power On the Smart Plug

Plug the EIGHTREE Smart Plug ET26 into a wall outlet. The indicator light on the plug will begin to blink.

5.3. Connecting the Smart Plug to the App

There are two primary methods for connecting your smart plug to the Smart Life app: Bluetooth Connection (recommended) and Wi-Fi Connection.

5.3.1. Bluetooth Connection (Recommended)

This method is generally faster and more straightforward.

1. Power on the plug: Insert the smart plug into a wall socket.
2. Press and hold the button: Press and hold the power button on the plug for over 5 seconds until the blue indicator light blinks.
3. Ensure Bluetooth is ON: On your smartphone, make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
4. Add device in app: Open the Smart Life app. It should automatically detect the new device. Tap "Add device" or the "+" icon, then select "Add smart plug" or similar option.
5. Choose Wi-Fi and enter password: The app will prompt you to select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter its password.
6. Wait for connection: The app will attempt to connect to the device. Once successful, the indicator light on the plug will stop blinking and remain solid.

5.3.2. Wi-Fi Connection (When Bluetooth is OFF)

If Bluetooth is off or the recommended method fails, you can use the Wi-Fi connection method.

1. Add device in app: Open the Smart Life app. Tap "Add device" or the "+" icon, then select "Plug (BLE+Wi-Fi)" under the Electrical category.
2. Power on the plug: Insert the smart plug into a wall socket.
3. Press and hold the button: Press and hold the power button on the plug for over 5 seconds until the indicator light blinks.
4. Confirm indicator blinking: In the app, confirm that the indicator is blinking. You may be asked to choose between "Blink Slowly" (AP Mode) or "Blink Quickly" (EZ Mode). For initial setup, "Blink Quickly" (EZ Mode) is often the default.
5. Select 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and enter password: Choose your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter its password. Note: The smart plug only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks.
6. Wait for connection: The app will connect to the device. Once successful, the indicator light on the plug will stop blinking and remain solid.

6.1. Remote Control

Once connected, you can turn the plug on or off from anywhere using the Smart Life app on your smartphone.

• Schedule: Set specific times for the plug to turn on or off daily or on selected days.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your EIGHTREE Smart Plug ET26, try the following steps:

• Connection Failure: If the initial connection fails, attempt to reset the plug by pressing and holding the power button for 5 seconds until the indicator light blinks. Then, try the connection process again.
