1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Panasonic LUMIX GH7 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Camera. 3. Setup
3.1 Attaching the Lens
- Remove the body cap from the camera and the rear lens cap from the lens.
- Align the mounting marks on the lens and the camera body.
- Turn the lens clockwise until it clicks into place.
3.2 Inserting the Battery and Memory Card
- Open the battery/card compartment cover.
- Insert the charged battery with the correct orientation until it locks.
- Insert a compatible SD card (UHS-II recommended) or CFexpress card into the appropriate slot until it clicks.
- Close the compartment cover securely.

3.3 Initial Settings
Upon first power-on, follow the on-screen prompts to set the date, time, language, and region.
4. Operating the Camera
4.1 Power On/Off
To power on the camera, slide the power switch located on the top plate to the 'ON' position. To power off, slide it to 'OFF'.

4.2 Basic Shooting Modes
Rotate the mode dial to select your desired shooting mode:
- P (Program AE): Camera sets aperture and shutter speed automatically.
- A (Aperture Priority AE): You set aperture, camera sets shutter speed.
- S (Shutter Priority AE): You set shutter speed, camera sets aperture.
- M (Manual Exposure): You set both aperture and shutter speed.
- Video Mode: Dedicated settings for video recording.
4.3 Autofocus System
The LUMIX GH7 features Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) with Real-time Recognition AF for various subjects including humans, animals, cars, motorcycles, trains, and airplanes. This system provides fast and accurate focusing.
4.4 Video Recording Features
The camera supports internal recording of Apple ProRes RAW and 32-bit float recording (with DMW-XLR2 adapter). These features streamline post-production workflows by eliminating the need for audio level adjustments during shooting and providing high-quality raw video files.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Camera
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body.
- For the lens, use a lens brush or blower to remove dust, then gently wipe with a lens cleaning cloth and solution.
- Avoid using strong chemical cleaners.
5.2 Sensor Cleaning
The camera features a sensor-shift image stabilization system which can also assist in dust reduction. For stubborn dust, consult a professional service center.
5.3 Storage
Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use desiccant packets if storing in humid environments.
