1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your MekedeTech Android Car Radio Stereo GPS Navigation system. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and to maximize your experience.

3. Setup and Installation

This Android head unit is designed for a plug-and-play installation in Honda Insight models from 2009 to 2014. Professional installation is recommended, but the following steps provide a general overview.

3.1 Pre-Installation Check

  • Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and the battery is disconnected before starting installation.
  • Confirm all included accessories match the package contents list.

3.2 Installation Steps

  1. Carefully remove the original car radio and dashboard trim. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions on trim removal.
  2. Connect the main power cable harness from the new head unit to the vehicle's wiring harness. Ensure all connections are secure.
  3. Connect the GPS antenna and position it in a location with a clear view of the sky (e.g., on the dashboard).
  4. Connect the external microphone for hands-free calling. Route the cable discreetly to a suitable location near the driver.
  5. If installing a reversing camera, connect its cable to the designated input on the head unit and route it to the rear of the vehicle.
  6. Connect any additional RCA or USB cables as needed for external devices.
  7. Mount the new head unit into the dashboard opening. Ensure it fits securely within the provided dash kit.
  8. Reconnect the vehicle's battery and turn on the ignition to test the unit.
  9. Once tested, reassemble the dashboard trim.

3.3 Cooling Fan Setup

The unit includes a cooling fan to manage internal temperatures. Follow these steps to ensure proper operation:

  1. Connect the fan: Ensure the cooling fan cable is securely connected to the designated port on the back of the head unit.
  2. Access Settings: On the head unit, navigate to Settings > Device > Sound.
  3. Enable AMP ON: Within the settings, locate and enable the "AMP ON" option.
  4. The cooling fan will activate automatically when needed to maintain optimal operating temperature.

4. Operating Instructions

Your MekedeTech head unit runs on Android 13 OS, offering a range of features for an enhanced in-car experience.

4.1 Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto

The unit features built-in wireless CarPlay (for iOS devices) and wired Android Auto (for Android devices), allowing seamless integration of your smartphone's functions.

4.1.1 Wireless CarPlay (iOS System)

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your iPhone.
  2. On the head unit, open the "Car Link" application.
  3. Connect your iPhone to the head unit via Bluetooth.
  4. Wait for the connection to establish. CarPlay will launch automatically. (CarPlay can also be connected via USB cable).

4.1.2 Wired Android Auto (Android System)

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your Android phone.
  2. On the head unit, open the "Car Link" application.
  3. Connect your Android phone to the head unit via Bluetooth.
  4. Wait for the connection to establish. Android Auto will launch automatically. (Android Auto can also be connected via USB cable).

4.2 GPS Navigation

The unit includes a built-in global positioning system (GPS) with support for various map applications. It provides real-time traffic conditions and accurate positioning.

  • Supported satellite systems: GPS, BDS, GLONASS.
  • Compatible map applications include Navitel, iGO, Yandex, and Google Maps.
  • Ensure the GPS antenna is properly installed for optimal signal reception.

4.3 Split Screen Functionality

The head unit supports displaying two applications simultaneously on the screen, enhancing convenience and multitasking.

  • Example uses: Displaying FM/AM Radio with a map, or playing music while navigating.
  • To activate split screen, open one application, then long-press the recent apps button or drag another compatible app to the side of the screen.

4.4 Other Features
