5. Setup
5.1. Physical Installation (Wiring)
The TONGOU Smart Wi-Fi Switch is designed for DIN rail mounting (standard 35mm/1.38in). Follow these steps for safe installation:
- Power Disconnection: Before starting, ensure the main power supply to the circuit where the switch will be installed is completely turned off at the circuit breaker.
- Mounting: Clip the smart switch onto a standard 35mm DIN rail within your electrical distribution box. Ensure the box is not entirely metallic, as this can interfere with the Wi-Fi signal.
- Wiring Connections:
- Connect the live (L) wire from the power supply to the 'L' input terminal on the switch.
- Connect the neutral (N) wire from the power supply to the 'N' input terminal on the switch.
- Connect the live (L) wire of your appliance (load) to the 'L1' output terminal on the switch.
- Connect the neutral (N) wire of your appliance (load) to the 'N1' output terminal on the switch.
- Ensure all connections are secure and wires are properly seated in the screw terminals. The maximum wiring capacity is 10 mm².
- Power Restoration: Once all wiring is complete and verified, restore power to the circuit. The signal light on the switch should begin flashing blue, indicating it is in pairing mode.
