1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Leo Jaymz LJNSG 39 Inch Solid Body Electric Guitar. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your new instrument. Please read it carefully to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your guitar.
The Leo Jaymz LJNSG is a 39-inch solid body electric guitar featuring a poplar wood body, a maple neck, and a laurel wood fretboard. It is designed for a comfortable playing experience and versatile sound.
2. Setup
2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove the guitar from its packaging. Inspect the instrument for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. Ensure all accessories are present.
2.2 Tuning
Before playing, tune your guitar using an electronic tuner. The guitar is equipped with sealed tuners for stable tuning. Standard tuning is E-A-D-G-B-e (from thickest to thinnest string).
2.3 Strap Buttons
Attach your guitar strap to the strap buttons located on the body of the guitar. One is typically near the neck joint, and the other at the bottom of the body.

3. Operating the Guitar
3.1 Controls Overview
Your Leo Jaymz electric guitar features a standard control layout for humbucker-equipped guitars:
- Pickup Selector Switch: A 3-way toggle switch to select pickups.
- Volume Knobs: Individual volume controls for the neck and bridge pickups.
- Tone Knobs: Individual tone controls for the neck and bridge pickups.

3.2 Pickup Selector Switch Positions
- Up Position: Activates the neck pickup, typically producing a warmer, rounder tone.
- Middle Position: Activates both neck and bridge pickups, offering a balanced sound.
- Down Position: Activates the bridge pickup, generally providing a brighter, more aggressive tone.
3.3 Volume and Tone Adjustment
Use the individual volume knobs to control the output level of each pickup. The tone knobs allow you to adjust the treble response, from bright (fully clockwise) to mellow (fully counter-clockwise).
3.4 Connecting to an Amplifier
Insert a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable into the output jack located on the lower bout of the guitar body. Connect the other end of the cable to your amplifier's input.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Regularly wipe down your guitar with a soft, lint-free cloth after each use to remove sweat and fingerprints. For the body, a guitar-specific polish can be used. Clean the fretboard with a dedicated fretboard cleaner and conditioner periodically to prevent drying and cracking.
4.2 String Replacement
Strings should be replaced regularly, depending on playing frequency and string type. Old strings can lose their tone and intonation. Replace one string at a time to maintain neck tension.
4.3 Fretboard Care
The laurel wood fretboard benefits from occasional conditioning. Apply a small amount of lemon oil or a specialized fretboard conditioner to a cloth and wipe it onto the fretboard. Allow it to soak in for a few minutes, then wipe off any excess.

4.4 Truss Rod Adjustment
The truss rod, accessible at the headstock, allows for neck relief adjustments. This should only be performed by experienced individuals or a qualified guitar technician to avoid damage to the neck.

5. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Guitar won't stay in tune | New strings, improper string winding, nut friction, worn tuners | Stretch new strings, ensure proper winding, lubricate nut slots, consider tuner replacement if worn. |
| Buzzing frets | Low action, uneven frets, neck relief issues | Adjust bridge height, check neck relief (truss rod), consult a technician for fret leveling. |
| No sound from amplifier | Faulty cable, amplifier off, volume knobs down, pickup selector in 'off' position (if applicable) | Check cable, turn on amp, increase volume, select a pickup. |
| Weak or inconsistent sound | Dirty pots/switch, loose wiring, pickup height issues | Clean control pots/switch with contact cleaner, check wiring connections, adjust pickup height. |
