4. Setup

4.1. Charging the Battery

The G1pro walkie talkies come with rechargeable Lithium Polymer batteries. For initial use, fully charge the devices.

  1. Connect the AC adapter to the dual port Type-C charger.
  2. Place the walkie talkies into the charging docks, ensuring the device logo faces the front of the dock.
  3. The indicator light on the dock will turn red while charging. It will turn green when fully charged.
  4. Alternatively, you can charge directly using a USB-C cable connected to the Type-C Charge Jack on the device.

4.2. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power On/Off/Menu button for 3 seconds to turn the device on or off.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Volume Adjustment

Use the Volume +/- Select buttons to adjust the listening volume. The device has 7 volume levels.

5.2. Channel Selection

The G1pro features 22 FRS channels. To change channels:

  1. Press the Menu button once. The large channel number on the display will flash.
  2. Use the Volume +/- Select buttons to choose your desired channel.
  3. Press the PTT button to confirm and exit channel selection mode.

5.3. Encryption Code (CTCSS/DCS Tones)

To enhance privacy and reduce interference, you can set encryption codes:

  1. Press the Menu button twice. The small encryption code number will flash.
  2. Use the Volume +/- Select buttons to choose a CTCSS (01-38) or DCS (39-99) tone.
  3. Press the PTT button to confirm and exit.

5.4. VOX (Voice-Activated Transmission)

VOX mode allows hands-free operation. To activate/deactivate VOX:

  1. Press the Menu button three times. The VOX icon and sensitivity level will flash.
  2. Use the Volume +/- Select buttons to choose a sensitivity level (1-3) or turn OFF VOX.
  3. Press the PTT button to confirm and exit.

5.5. Keypad Sound (Beep Tone)

To turn the keypad beep sound on or off:

  1. Press the Menu button five times. The keypad sound setting (ON/OFF) will flash.
  2. Use the Volume +/- Select buttons to toggle ON or OFF.
  3. Press the PTT button to confirm and exit.

5.6. End of Intercom Sound (Roger Beep)

To enable or disable the "Roger Beep" (end of transmission tone):

  1. Press the Menu button six times. The end tone setting (ON/OFF) will flash.
  2. Use the Volume +/- Select buttons to toggle ON or OFF.
  3. Press the PTT button to confirm and exit.

5.7. Vibration Mode

The G1pro features a vibration reminder for incoming communications, useful in noisy environments.

  1. Press the Menu button seven times. The vibration setting (ON/OFF) will flash.
  2. Use the Volume +/- Select buttons to toggle ON or OFF.
  3. Press the PTT button to confirm and exit.

5.8. High and Low Power Selection

Adjust the transmission power to suit your needs:

  • High Power (2W): Longer transmission distance, wider coverage, but consumes more battery.
  • Low Power (0.5W): Shorter transmission distance, but more power-efficient for extended battery life.

Channels 1-7 and 15-22 support both High and Low power. Channels 8-14 only support Low power.

5.9. Scan Mode

To scan for active channels:

  1. Briefly press the Scan/Monitor button. The SCAN icon will appear, and the device will cycle through channels.
  2. It will stop on an active channel. Press PTT to transmit on that channel or Menu to exit scan mode.

5.10. Monitoring Mode

To continuously monitor a channel for weak signals:

  1. Press and hold the Scan/Monitor button for 3 seconds. The signal tower icon will appear.
  2. Release the button to exit monitor mode.

5.11. Key Lock

To prevent accidental button presses:

  1. Press and hold the Call/Lock button for 3 seconds. A key icon will appear on the display, indicating the keypad is locked.
  2. To unlock, press and hold the Call/Lock button for 3 seconds again. The key icon will disappear.
