Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your QWORK 1-inch Water Pressure Regulator. This device is designed to regulate water pressure in your system and includes an integrated pressure gauge and a self-cleaning screen filter to protect your plumbing from impurities. Please read these instructions carefully before installation and use to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Safety Information
- Always shut off the main water supply before installing or performing maintenance on the regulator.
- Ensure all connections are properly sealed to prevent leaks. Use appropriate thread sealant (e.g., PTFE tape) on threaded connections.
- Do not overtighten connections, as this can damage the brass fittings.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and gloves during installation.
- If you are unsure about any part of the installation process, consult a qualified plumber.
- The operating water pressure should not exceed 0.8 MPa (8 bar).
- The applicable temperature range is -10°C to 70°C. Do not expose the unit to temperatures outside this range.
Product Components
The QWORK Water Pressure Regulator consists of several key components:
- Brass Valve Body: The main housing of the regulator, made from high-quality brass for durability.
- Pressure Gauge: Displays the regulated output water pressure in PSI and bar.
- Self-Cleaning Screen Filter: A stainless steel mesh filter (40 microns) located within the transparent housing, designed to capture rust, sediment, and other impurities.
- Pressure Adjustment Knob: Located at the top, used to set the desired output pressure.
- Drain Valve: A small valve at the bottom of the filter housing for flushing out collected impurities.
- G1'' Interface: Standard 1-inch threaded connections for inlet and outlet.

Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of the water pressure regulator:
- Prepare the Installation Site: Choose a suitable location in your main water line, typically after the main shut-off valve and before any sensitive appliances. Ensure there is enough space for installation and future maintenance.
- Shut Off Water Supply: Turn off the main water supply to your property. Open a faucet at the lowest point in your system to drain residual water and relieve pressure.
- Prepare Pipe Ends: Ensure the pipe ends are clean, free of burrs, and properly aligned. The regulator is designed for horizontal pipe installation.
- Apply Thread Sealant: Apply appropriate thread sealant (e.g., PTFE tape or pipe dope) to the male threads of your plumbing pipes where the regulator will connect.
- Install Regulator: Install the regulator in the horizontal pipe with the filter bowl facing downwards. This orientation is crucial for the self-cleaning function. Ensure the flow arrow on the regulator body points in the direction of water flow. For different pipe sizes, use appropriate adapters (not included).
- Tighten Connections: Hand-tighten the connections, then use a wrench to tighten them securely. Avoid overtightening.
- Restore Water Supply: Slowly open the main water supply valve. Check for any leaks at the connections. If leaks occur, tighten the connections slightly or reapply sealant.
- Purge Air: Open a faucet in your system to purge any trapped air.

Operating and Pressure Adjustment
The QWORK Water Pressure Regulator allows you to set your desired output water pressure.
- Read Current Pressure: Observe the pressure gauge to determine the current regulated water pressure.
- Adjust Pressure: To adjust the pressure, turn the green adjustment knob located at the top of the regulator.
- Turn the knob clockwise to increase the output pressure.
- Turn the knob counter-clockwise to decrease the output pressure.
- Monitor Gauge: Make small adjustments and observe the pressure gauge until the desired pressure is reached. It is recommended to open a faucet briefly after each adjustment to allow the system pressure to stabilize before taking a final reading.
- Recommended Pressure: Consult your local plumbing codes or appliance manufacturers for recommended household water pressure, typically between 3 to 5 bar (45-75 PSI).
Maintenance
Regular maintenance of the self-cleaning filter ensures optimal performance and longevity of the regulator.
- Frequency: The frequency of cleaning depends on your water quality. In areas with high sediment, more frequent cleaning may be necessary. Visually inspect the filter through the transparent housing periodically.
- Self-Cleaning Flush: To flush the filter, slowly open the drain valve located at the bottom of the filter housing. Allow water to flow out for a few seconds until the water runs clear. This action flushes accumulated impurities from the screen filter.
- Close Drain Valve: Once flushed, securely close the drain valve.
- Deep Cleaning (if necessary): If the filter appears heavily clogged or pressure drops significantly even after flushing, you may need to shut off the water supply, unscrew the filter housing, remove the screen filter, and clean it manually with a brush under running water. Reassemble carefully, ensuring all seals are correctly seated.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water flow or very low pressure after installation. | Main water supply not fully open; Regulator installed backward (flow arrow direction); Filter clogged. | Ensure main water supply is fully open. Check regulator orientation and reinstall if necessary. Flush the self-cleaning filter. |
| Water pressure is too high or too low. | Pressure adjustment knob not set correctly. | Adjust the pressure using the green knob (clockwise to increase, counter-clockwise to decrease) until the desired pressure is shown on the gauge. |
| Leaks at connections. | Improperly tightened connections; Insufficient thread sealant; Damaged threads or seals. | Tighten connections. Reapply thread sealant. Inspect threads and seals for damage and replace if necessary. |
| Pressure gauge not working or showing incorrect readings. | Gauge is faulty; Air trapped in the system. | Open a faucet to purge air. If the issue persists, the gauge may be faulty and require replacement. |
| Filter appears dirty quickly or pressure drops frequently. | High sediment content in water supply. | Increase the frequency of self-cleaning flushes. Consider a pre-filter if sediment is excessive. |
