1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Darmoshark M5 Wireless Gaming Mouse. The M5 mouse is designed for high-performance gaming, featuring tri-mode connectivity (2.4G wireless, Bluetooth, USB-C wired), an ultra-lightweight design, and a high-precision PAW3395 optical sensor.

3.1 Top View

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Mouse

Connect the provided USB-C cable to the mouse's front port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter). The roller position indicator will be red while charging and turn off when fully charged. Charging time is approximately 3-3.5 hours.

4.2 Wired Connection

Connect the USB-C cable to the mouse and the USB-A end to your computer. Set the three-section mode switch on the bottom of the mouse to the middle (Off/Wired) position. The mouse will function as a wired device.

4.3 2.4G Wireless Connection

  1. Remove the 2.4G wireless USB dongle from its storage compartment on the bottom of the mouse.
  2. Insert the dongle into an available USB-A port on your computer. For optimal signal, use the provided USB-A to USB-C adapter with the USB-C cable to position the dongle closer to the mouse.
  3. Set the three-section mode switch on the bottom of the mouse to the right (G) position. The green light at the scroll wheel position will stay on for three seconds, indicating a successful connection.

4.4 Bluetooth Connection

  1. Set the three-section mode switch on the bottom of the mouse to the left (B) position.
  2. Press the left, middle, and right buttons simultaneously for three seconds. The blue light at the scroll wheel position will flash, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your computer or device, search for Bluetooth devices and select "M5 Mouse" to pair.
  4. Once connected, the blue indicator light will turn off.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 DPI Adjustment

Press the DPI button on the bottom of the mouse to cycle through the preset DPI levels. The default DPI settings are 400 (red), 800 (blue), 1600 (green), 3200 (purple), and 4800 (orange). The mouse supports up to 26000 DPI, configurable via software.

5.2 Return Rate Adjustment

Press the RPT button on the bottom of the mouse to adjust the polling rate. Default settings are 125Hz (red light), 500Hz (blue light), and 1000Hz (green light). The mouse supports up to 8KHz return rate.

5.3 Sleep and Wake-up

After 5 seconds of inactivity, the mouse enters the first level sleep mode. After 90 seconds, it enters the secondary sleep mode. To wake the mouse, click any button or move the mouse.

5.4 Low Power Indication

When the scroll wheel position indicator flashes yellow, it indicates low power. Connect the mouse to a power source for charging.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean your mouse with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Ensure no liquid enters the mouse's internal components.

7.2 Replacing PTFE Feet

Over time, the PTFE feet on the bottom of your mouse may wear down. Use the included extra PTFE feet for replacement. Carefully peel off the old feet and apply the new ones, ensuring they are properly aligned for smooth gliding.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Mouse Not Responding

  • Wired Mode: Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the mouse and the computer, and the mode switch is in the middle (Off/Wired) position.
  • 2.4G Wireless: Verify the USB dongle is properly inserted into a USB port and the mode switch is in the right (G) position. Try a different USB port.
  • Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device, the mouse is in pairing mode (blue light flashing), and it is successfully paired.
  • Battery: Check if the mouse battery is charged. Connect it via USB-C cable to charge.

8.2 Intermittent Connectivity

  • Wireless Interference: Move the mouse closer to the 2.4G dongle or Bluetooth device. Avoid placing the dongle near other wireless devices or large metal objects.
  • Low Battery: Charge the mouse fully.

8.3 Cursor Movement Issues

  • Sensor Cleanliness: Ensure the optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse is clean and free from dust or debris.
  • Surface: Use the mouse on a clean, uniform surface. Avoid highly reflective or transparent surfaces.
  • DPI Setting: Adjust the DPI to a suitable level using the DPI button.
