2. Safety Instructions

  • Always connect the battery first, then the solar panel, and finally the load. Disconnect in the reverse order: load, then solar panel, then battery.

  • Use appropriate circuit breakers or fuses for the battery, solar panel, and load circuits to protect against overcurrent.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the controller. Refer to qualified service personnel for any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and insulated gloves during installation.
  • Ensure the battery bank voltage matches the controller's supported voltage (12V/24V).

4.1 Wiring Connections

  • Cannot Connect to WiFi:

  • App Requires Excessive Permissions (iOS/Android):
    • While the app may request permissions like location, camera, or file access during initial setup, these might not be strictly necessary for remote monitoring once the device is added. You can often deny these permissions or disable them after initial setup if you only intend to monitor remotely.
    • Consider using a dedicated device for initial setup if privacy is a concern, then use your main device for remote monitoring.

7.2 Load Output Voltage

  • Load Voltage Higher Than Expected:
    • The controller's load output voltage directly reflects the battery voltage. For LiFePO4 batteries, this can be higher than a nominal 12V (e.g., 13.8V at full charge).
    • If your load requires a precise voltage (e.g., 12.0V for sensitive electronics), consider adding a DC-DC voltage reducer/regulator between the controller's load output and your sensitive devices.

7.3 No Charging / Low Charging Power

  • No Charging Indication:
    • Verify solar panel connections and ensure sufficient sunlight.
    • Check battery connections and ensure the battery voltage is within the controller's operating range.
    • Confirm the battery type setting in the app or on the LCD matches your connected battery.
  • Low Charging Power:
    • Ensure solar panels are clean and free from shading.
    • Check for proper panel orientation and tilt angle for maximum sun exposure.
    • Verify all connections are secure and there are no loose wires causing resistance.
