1. Introduction

The SpyX Spy Pen Toolkit is a versatile set of gadgets designed for young detectives and aspiring secret agents. This kit combines multiple tools into a compact, portable design, encouraging imaginative play and STEM learning. It includes a pen with disappearing ink, a motion detector, a flashlight, a telescope, and a light bending tube, all housed within a convenient storage case.

3. Package Contents

Carefully unpack your Spy Pen Toolkit. Ensure all the following components are present:

• 1 x Spy Pen (main unit)

• 1 x Motion Detector Attachment

4. Setup and Battery Installation

The Spy Pen Toolkit requires two (2) AAA batteries for the motion alarm and flashlight functions. Batteries are not included.

1. Battery Installation: Locate the battery compartment on the main Spy Pen unit. Use a small screwdriver (not included) to open the compartment. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
2. Familiarization: Before use, familiarize yourself with each attachment and how it connects to the main Spy Pen unit. The attachments slide or click into place.

5. Operating Instructions

This section details how to use each function of your Spy Pen Toolkit.

5.1. Disappearing Ink Pen

• Writing: Use the pen tip to write secret messages on paper. The ink will appear normal at first.
• Disappearing Ink: The ink is designed to disappear over time or when erased with the rubber tip located at the back of the pen.
• Reappearing Ink: To make the message reappear, place the paper with the erased or faded message into a freezer. The cold temperature will temporarily restore the ink's visibility.
• Replacing Ink: If the ink runs out, unscrew the pen tip and replace the cartridge with the spare provided.

5.2. Motion Detector

Attach the Motion Detector module to the main Spy Pen unit.

• Activation: Turn on the motion detector using its dedicated switch.
• Placement: Position the pen with the motion detector in an area you wish to monitor. Ensure the sensor has a clear line of sight.
• Detection: When movement is detected within its range, the motion detector will trigger an alarm sound and a red light will blink.

5.3. Flashlight

Attach the Flashlight module to the main Spy Pen unit.

• Operation: Activate the flashlight using its switch to illuminate dark areas.

5.4. Telescope

Attach the Telescope module to the main Spy Pen unit.

• Observation: Use the telescope to magnify distant objects for covert observation. Adjust the focus if available.

5.5. Light Bending Tube

Attach the Light Bending Tube module to the main Spy Pen unit.

• Stealth Writing: The light bending tube can be used in conjunction with the flashlight to provide a focused light source for writing in low-light conditions without drawing attention.

6. Storage

When not in use, store all components neatly within the provided locking storage case. This helps protect the gadgets and keeps them organized for your next mission.

7. Troubleshooting

• Device Not Functioning: Ensure batteries are correctly installed with the proper polarity and are not depleted. Replace batteries if necessary.
• Motion Detector Alarm Constantly On/Flashing: The motion detector's red light may blink continuously when active. This is normal operation. Ensure the sensor is not obstructed or placed in an area with constant movement if you desire discreet operation.
• Disappearing Ink Not Reappearing: Ensure the paper is placed in a sufficiently cold environment, such as a freezer, for a prolonged period. Results may vary based on paper type and temperature.
• Attachments Not Fitting: Ensure you are aligning the attachments correctly with the main pen unit. They are designed to slide or click into place securely. Do not force attachments.
