5. Setup

5.1 Initial Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and place the machine on a stable, level surface.
  2. Clean: Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth. Wash the water tank, drip tray, and milk pitcher with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
  3. Fill Water Tank: Fill the 1.8-liter water tank with fresh, cold water. Ensure the tank is properly seated.
  4. Fill Bean Hopper: Open the lid of the coffee bean hopper and pour in whole coffee beans (up to 250 grams). Close the lid securely to maintain freshness.
  5. Plug In: Connect the power cord to the machine and then to a grounded electrical outlet.

5.2 First Use / Priming

Before brewing your first coffee, the machine needs to be primed:

  1. Turn on the machine using the power button on the touchscreen.
  2. The machine will typically perform an automatic rinse cycle. Follow any on-screen prompts.
  3. Place a container under the coffee spouts and steam wand during this process.
  4. Once the rinse cycle is complete, the machine is ready for use.

6.4 Milk Frothing System

  1. Fill the stainless steel milk steaming pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy). Do not fill more than one-third full.
  2. Position the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
  3. Select the "Hot Milk" option on the touchscreen.
  4. Move the pitcher up and down gently to incorporate air and create foam.
  5. Once desired foam consistency and temperature are reached, turn off the steam function on the touchscreen before removing the pitcher.
  6. Wipe the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

Use a descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines and follow the product's instructions carefully.
