4. Installation Guide

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of your VADANIA drawer slides. Please follow these steps carefully.

4.1. Pre-Installation Check

Ensure your cabinet or furniture unit has a sturdy bottom panel to support the slides. These slides are designed for true bottom-mounted applications.

4.2. Determining Installation Type: Overlay vs. Inset

The positioning of the slides depends on whether you are performing an overlay or inset installation.

  • Overlay Installation: The drawer front overlaps the cabinet frame. Ensure the drawer depth exceeds the slide length.
  • Inset Installation: The drawer front sits flush with the cabinet frame. Leave a gap equivalent to the thickness of the drawer front panel between the slide and the edge of the bottom panel.

4.3. Mounting the Slides

  1. Position the Slides: Place the slides parallel on the bottom panel of the cabinet. Align one end flush with the panel edge.
  2. Secure the Slides: Use appropriate screws (not included) to secure the slides to the bottom panel. Ensure they are firmly attached and parallel to each other.
  3. Attach to Drawer: Secure the corresponding parts of the slides to the bottom of your drawer.
  4. Insert Drawer: Carefully insert the drawer into the cabinet, aligning the slide mechanisms.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and smooth performance of your drawer slides, follow these simple maintenance tips:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the slides periodically with a clean, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Lubrication: The slides are pre-lubricated. If operation becomes less smooth over time, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the moving parts. Avoid oil-based lubricants as they can attract dust.
  • Check Screws: Periodically check all mounting screws to ensure they are tight. Retighten if necessary.
  • Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 88 lbs (40 kg) to prevent damage and ensure smooth operation.
