4. Setup and Installation

This smart lock deadbolt is designed for easy installation, typically requiring only a screwdriver. It fits most standard door preparations with a thickness of 1-3/8" to 2" (35mm to 50mm).

4.1 Door Compatibility Check

Before installation, ensure your door meets the following specifications:

  • Door Thickness: 1-3/8" to 2" (35mm to 50mm)
  • Backset: 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm)
  • Door Hole Diameter: 2-1/8" (54mm)
  • Minimum Distance from handle: 1-1/2" to 2" (38mm to 50mm)

4.2 Installation Steps

  1. Prepare the Door: If replacing an existing deadbolt, remove it. Ensure the door frame is chiseled for the strike plate.
  2. Install Latch Bolt: Insert the latch bolt into the door edge and secure it with screws. Ensure the latch is oriented correctly for your door's swing.
  3. Install Exterior Assembly: Route the cable from the exterior assembly through the door hole. Align the exterior assembly with the latch bolt.
  4. Install Interior Mounting Plate: Secure the interior mounting plate to the exterior assembly using the provided screws.
  5. Connect Cables and Install Interior Assembly: Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly. Mount the interior assembly onto the mounting plate and secure it.
  6. Install Batteries: Insert 4 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment of the interior assembly.
  7. Install Strike Plate: Install the strike plate on the door frame, aligning it with the latch bolt.
  8. Optional Exterior Screw: For additional security or on weak/warped doors, drill a 19/32" hole in the door before installation to use the exterior screw.

4.3 Wi-Fi Bridge Setup

The Wi-Fi Bridge Adaptor enables remote control and monitoring of your lock.

  1. Plug the Wi-Fi Bridge Adaptor into a power outlet within close proximity to your smart lock.
  2. Download the Philips Home Access app from your device's app store.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to pair the Wi-Fi Bridge with your smart lock and connect it to your home Wi-Fi network.

5. Operating Instructions

Your Philips Smart Door Lock offers multiple convenient ways to unlock and manage access.

5.1 Unlocking Methods

  • Fingerprint ID: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock in less than 0.3 seconds with an accuracy rate of up to 99.99%.
  • PIN Code: Enter your programmed PIN code on the keypad and press the checkmark button.
  • Physical Key: Use the provided physical key as a traditional backup method.
  • Philips Home Access App: Use the app to remotely unlock the door from anywhere.
  • Voice Assistant: Integrate with Amazon Alexa or Google Voice Assistant for voice-controlled unlocking (requires Wi-Fi Bridge).
