4. Setup
- Connect to Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC Power Input port on the rear of the Mini PC, then connect the power cord to a wall outlet.
- Connect to Display: Use an HDMI cable to connect your monitor or TV to one of the HDMI 2.1 ports on the rear of the Mini PC. Alternatively, use a USB-C to DisplayPort cable for compatible monitors.
- Connect Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, and other USB devices to the available USB-A or USB-C ports.
- Network Connection: For a wired connection, plug an Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 network port. For wireless, the Mini PC supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
- Power On: Press the Power Button located on the front of the Mini PC.
5. Operating Instructions
Your Thunderobot Mix Gaming Mini PC comes pre-installed with Windows 11. Follow the on-screen instructions for initial setup of the operating system.
Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the power button once to turn on. To shut down, use the Windows Start Menu options. A long press (5 seconds) on the power button will force a shutdown.
- Display Output: The Mini PC supports multiple displays via its HDMI and USB-C ports. Configure display settings within Windows.
- Audio: Connect headphones or speakers to the 2-in-1 audio jack or use HDMI audio output.
6. Upgrading Components
The Thunderobot Mix Mini PC is designed for easy upgrades to enhance its performance and storage capacity.
RAM Upgrade
The Mini PC features two DDR4 memory slots, supporting dual-channel configuration. It is expandable up to 64GB (using two 32GB DIMMs).
- Power off the device and disconnect all cables.
- Carefully remove the bottom cover by unscrewing the retaining screws.
- Locate the DDR4 SODIMM slots. Gently push the clips on both sides of the existing RAM module outwards to release it.
- Insert the new RAM module(s) into the slots, ensuring they are correctly aligned, and push down until the clips snap into place.
- Replace the bottom cover and secure the screws.
Storage Upgrade
The Mini PC includes an M.2 22x80 key M slot for PCIe x4 Gen 4 NVMe SSDs, supporting up to 2TB. Additionally, it supports a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive (SSD/HDD) up to 2TB.
- Power off the device and disconnect all cables.
- Remove the bottom cover as described for RAM upgrade.
- For M.2 SSD: Locate the M.2 slot. If upgrading, remove the existing M.2 SSD. Insert the new M.2 SSD at an angle and secure it with the provided screw.
- For 2.5-inch SATA Drive: The bottom cover assembly includes a bracket for a 2.5-inch drive. Secure your 2.5-inch SSD/HDD into this bracket and connect it via the internal SATA ribbon cable.
- Replace the bottom cover and secure the screws.
