Safety Guidelines

Your safety is paramount. Adhere to all local traffic laws and regulations. Always wear appropriate safety gear, including a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and gloves, to minimize injury risk in case of a fall.

  • The scooter is designed for adult use.
  • Ensure the scooter has passed UL2272 certification tests for electrical safety.
  • Do not exceed the maximum weight limit of 265 pounds (120 kg).
  • Utilize the double braking system (disc braking and EABS regenerative anti-lock braking) for effective stopping.
  • Avoid riding in adverse weather conditions or on slippery surfaces.
  • Do not expose the battery to freezing temperatures.
  • Only one rider at a time.
  • Be cautious of wires during assembly and maintenance to prevent damage.

Setup

1. Assembly

  1. Carefully remove the scooter and all components from the packaging.
  2. Attach the handlebar to the main shaft. Ensure the wires connecting the handlebar to the scooter's body are not pinched or damaged during this process. Gently tuck the cable into the shaft.
  3. Secure the handlebar with the provided screws.
  4. Ensure the folding mechanism is securely locked in the upright position before use.

2. Initial Charging

  • Locate the charging port, typically covered by a rubber cap, at the front, bottom left of the scooter.
  • Connect the charger to the scooter and then to a power outlet.
  • The charger's indicator light will turn red during charging and green when fully charged.
  • Initial charging typically takes approximately 5 hours. Do not operate the scooter while it is charging.
  • Place the charger in a cool, well-ventilated area during charging to prevent overheating.

3. App Pairing (Optional)

  • Download the official Roinside app from your device's app store.
  • Follow the in-app instructions to pair your scooter. During pairing, a serial number will be displayed once; it is recommended to screenshot this for future reference, especially for theft reporting.
  • Note: Once paired, manual controls may be locked, requiring the app to unlock and operate the scooter.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • To power on, press and hold the power button on the handlebar display.
  • To power off, press and hold the power button again.

2. Starting Modes

  • Electric Start Mode: The scooter accelerates directly from a standstill using the throttle.
  • Glide Start Mode: (Requires activation in the app) Push off with your foot to gain initial momentum before engaging the throttle.

3. Acceleration and Braking

  • Acceleration: Use the thumb lever on the right side of the handlebar to control speed.
  • Braking: The brake lever is on the left side of the handlebar. This activates the double braking system (disc brake and EABS regenerative anti-lock braking). There is also a rear foot brake. Use the handle brake primarily to minimize wear on the rear tire.
  • Before riding, lift the front wheel and test the controls, especially the brake, to ensure they are functioning correctly.

4. Speed Modes

Click the power button twice quickly to cycle through speed modes:

  • Eco Mode: Approximately 8 mph (13 km/h) - For extended range and beginner riders.
  • D Mode: Approximately 11 mph (18 km/h) - Standard mode for balanced performance.
  • S Mode: Approximately 19 mph (31 km/h) - Maximum speed for experienced riders. Note: Maximum speed may exceed local legal limits in some areas.

5. Lights and Bell

  • Headlight and Taillight: Click the power button once to toggle the white headlight and red taillight on/off for night riding. The taillight flashes when braking.
  • Bell: Use the manual thumb lever bell on the left side of the handlebar to alert others.

6. Folding Mechanism

To fold the scooter for storage or transport, locate the folding button/lever near the base of the steering column. Release the lock and fold the stem down until it clicks into place. The mechanism may be stiff initially; ensure no wires are caught.

Maintenance

  • Tires: The scooter features 8.5-inch solid rubber tires, which are puncture-resistant and require minimal maintenance. Regularly inspect them for wear and tear.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the scooter with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure water jets or harsh chemicals.

Troubleshooting
