3.2 Initial Cleaning and Priming

  1. Wash the water tank, drip tray, and all capsule/ground coffee adapters with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  2. Fill the water tank (600 ml capacity) with fresh, clean water up to the MAX level.
  3. Place the water tank back onto the machine securely.
  4. Ensure the drip tray is in place. Place an empty cup (at least 200ml) on the drip tray.
  5. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. Note: This appliance has a European plug; use an appropriate adapter if necessary.
  6. Press the Power button to turn on the machine. The indicator lights will flash as the machine heats up.
  7. Once the lights stop flashing and remain steady, the machine is ready.
  8. Without any capsule or ground coffee in the brewing head, press the brew button (usually the largest cup icon) to run a full cycle of hot water through the machine. This primes the pump and cleans the internal system.
  9. Repeat the hot water cycle 2-3 times.
  10. Discard the water from the cup and the drip tray. The machine is now ready for use.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

5.2 Descaling

Descaling is essential to remove mineral deposits and ensure optimal performance and longevity of your coffee maker. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage, but generally every 3-6 months.

  1. Empty the water tank and remove any capsule/adapter from the brewing head.
  2. Fill the water tank with a descaling solution (e.g., white vinegar and water, or a commercial descaling agent) according to the descaling product's instructions.
  3. Place a large container (at least 600ml) under the coffee spout.
  4. Turn on the machine and allow it to heat up.
  5. Run several brew cycles (without a capsule) until the water tank is empty.
  6. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
  7. Run several full cycles of fresh water through the machine to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
  8. Discard the water from the container and drip tray.
