Operating Instructions

This drill bit sharpener is designed for easy and accurate sharpening of 130° standard drill bits. It is suitable for drill bits with diameters ranging from approximately 3mm (1/8in) to 12mm (15/32in).

  1. Identify Drill Bit Size: Determine the diameter of the drill bit you wish to sharpen. The sharpener features 19 hole positions for various sizes.
  2. Select Correct Hole: Insert the drill bit into the corresponding hole position on the sharpener. The positioning plate helps control the angle.
  3. Power On: Turn on the sharpener using the power switch.
  4. Sharpening: Gently press the drill bit into the selected hole. The machine will grind the back cut surface of the 130° standard drill bit. Only the front corner is grindable; the rear corner is not. Apply minimal force, allowing the sharpener to do the work.
  5. Check Sharpness: After a few seconds, remove the drill bit and inspect its sharpness. Repeat if necessary, ensuring even grinding on both sides.

Important Notes:

  • The machine can only grind the front corner, not the rear corner.
  • If your drill has no rear corner, the cross edge of the drill will be longer after grinding, and metal drilling may be prone to slipping. It is recommended to grind it again before using it.
  • Cobalt alloy drill bits cannot be used with this sharpener.
