3. Operation

3.1 Noise Control Modes

The QuietComfort Ultra Headphones feature three primary noise control modes:

  • Quiet Mode: Provides world-class active noise cancellation, significantly reducing ambient sounds for an undisturbed listening experience.
  • Aware Mode: Allows you to hear your surroundings while still enjoying your audio. This mode is ideal for situations where you need to be aware of your environment, such as walking in a city or listening for announcements.
  • Immersion Mode: Combines full noise cancellation with Bose Immersive Audio, creating a more spacious and realistic soundstage.

Switch between modes using the button on the left earcup or through the Bose Music app.

3.2 Spatial Audio and CustomTune Technology

Bose Immersive Audio utilizes spatial audio technology to place sound in front of you, creating a more natural and expansive listening experience. CustomTune technology analyzes the unique shape of your ears to optimize audio performance, ensuring sound is delivered precisely as intended. These features are automatically enabled and enhanced via the Bose Music app.

3.3 Call Management

The integrated microphones are designed to focus on your voice and filter out background noise, providing clear phone calls. Use the multi-function button on the right earcup to:

  • Answer/End calls: Single press
  • Decline calls: Press and hold
  • Mute/Unmute: Double press during a call

3.4 Battery Life and Charging

The headphones offer up to 24 hours of battery life with standard use, and up to 18 hours with Immersive Audio enabled. A quick 15-minute charge provides up to 2.5 hours of playtime (2 hours with Immersive Audio). The battery status can be checked via the Bose Music app or by a voice prompt when turning on the headphones.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

Regular cleaning helps maintain the headphones' appearance and performance:

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surfaces of the earcups and headband.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, alcohol, or chemical sprays.
  • Keep moisture out of the ports.

4.2 Storage

When not in use, store the headphones in their protective case to prevent scratches and damage. Avoid storing them in extreme temperatures or high humidity.
