4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Main Display Unit: Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.
  2. Wireless Remote Sensor: Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote sensor. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.

Note: It is recommended to install batteries in the remote sensor first, then in the main display unit, to ensure proper pairing.

4.2 Sensor Pairing

Upon battery installation, the main unit will automatically search for the remote sensor signal. The outdoor temperature and humidity readings should appear on the display within a few minutes. If the readings do not appear:

  • Ensure both units have fresh batteries and are within the transmission range (up to 100m/328ft in open area).
  • Press the "CH" button on the back of the main unit to manually search for the sensor.
  • If issues persist, remove batteries from both units, wait 1 minute, and re-install them, starting with the remote sensor.

Figure 4.2: Remote Sensor Placement
The wireless remote sensor can be placed outdoors to monitor external conditions. For optimal performance and longevity, place the sensor in a sheltered location away from direct sunlight and heavy rain, such as under an eave or in a covered porch area. Ensure it is within the wireless range of the main unit.

  • Main Unit: Place the main unit indoors in a central location, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or vents that could affect its readings. It can be placed on a table, attached to a refrigerator, or wall-mounted.
  • Remote Sensor: For outdoor readings, place the remote sensor in a shaded, dry location outdoors. Avoid direct exposure to rain, snow, or extreme temperatures. Common placements include under an eave, on a covered porch, or in a shed. Ensure it is within 100 meters (328 feet) of the main unit, with minimal obstructions for best signal.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Display Overview

The 3-inch LCD display provides clear, simultaneous readings for indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity. It also shows MAX/MIN values, comfort trend arrows, and a low battery indication.

5.2 Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F)

Press the °C/°F/HIST button on the back of the main unit to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) temperature display.

5.3 MAX/MIN Records

The device records the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values for both indoor and outdoor environments. To view these records:

  • Press the MAX/MIN button once to display the maximum recorded values.
  • Press the MAX/MIN button again to display the minimum recorded values.
  • Press the MAX/MIN button a third time to return to current readings.

To clear the MAX/MIN records, press and hold the MAX/MIN button for approximately 3 seconds while the MAX or MIN values are displayed. The records will reset to current values.

The device supports 3 modes for history: 24H, 48H, and All time. Press the °C/°F/HIST button repeatedly while viewing MAX/MIN records to cycle through these history modes.

5.4 Comfort Level Indicator

The display includes a comfort level indicator, typically represented by a colored bar or icon, to show whether the indoor environment is too dry, comfortable, or too humid. This helps in maintaining a healthy living space.

5.5 Trend Arrows

Trend arrows indicate whether the temperature and humidity are rising, falling, or remaining stable. An upward arrow signifies an increase, a downward arrow signifies a decrease, and a horizontal arrow indicates stability.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the display unit and remote sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries in both the main unit and the remote sensor with fresh AAA batteries.
  • Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, remove the batteries from both units to prevent leakage. Store in a cool, dry place.
