2. Safety Information

Always follow these safety precautions to prevent serious injury or death. Failure to do so can result in electric shock, fire, or carbon monoxide poisoning.

• Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generators produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far away from windows, doors, and vents. Never operate indoors, in a garage, or in any enclosed space.
• Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all connections are dry and secure. Never touch the generator with wet hands.
• Fire Hazard: Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow open flames near the generator. Store fuel in approved containers.
• Hot Surfaces: The generator's engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid touching hot surfaces to prevent burns.

4. Setup and Assembly

4.1. Wheel Kit Assembly

The wheel kit enhances the portability of your Erayak 2400P generator. Follow these steps to attach it:

1. Carefully unbox the generator and wheel kit components.
2. Locate the mounting points on the generator's base for the wheel axles.
3. Attach the never-flat tires to the axles using the provided hardware (washers, nuts, cotter pins). Ensure they are securely fastened but can rotate freely.
4. Insert the telescopic handle into its designated slot on the generator. Secure it with the locking mechanism or pins as instructed in the wheel kit's specific guide.
5. Verify that the wheels are firmly attached and the handle extends and retracts smoothly.

4.2. Adding Fuel and Oil

Before first use, and before each subsequent use, ensure proper fuel and oil levels.

• Engine Oil:
  • Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick.
  • Using the provided oil funnel, slowly add recommended 4-stroke engine oil (e.g., SAE 10W-30) until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
  • Securely replace the oil fill cap/dipstick.
• Fuel:
  • Ensure the generator is off and cool.
  • Open the fuel tank cap.
  • Carefully pour fresh, unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane) into the fuel tank. Do not fill above the red indicator line or the bottom of the filler neck.
  • Securely close the fuel tank cap.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Starting the Generator

1. Place the generator on a firm, level surface outdoors, away from any combustible materials and at least 20 feet from any building openings.
2. Ensure the fuel valve is in the "ON" position.
3. Turn the engine switch to the "START" position.
4. Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts. You may need to pull several times.
5. Once the engine starts, slowly return the engine switch to the "RUN" position.
6. Allow the generator to warm up for a few minutes before connecting any electrical devices.

5.2. Connecting Electrical Devices

• Ensure the generator is running stably.
• Plug your electrical devices into the appropriate AC 120V or DC 12V outlets on the control panel.
• Do not overload the generator. The total wattage of connected devices must not exceed the generator's running wattage (2400 Watts).
• If an overload occurs, the circuit breaker may trip. Disconnect some devices, then reset the circuit breaker.

5.3. ECO Mode Operation

The Erayak 2400P features an ECO mode for improved fuel efficiency and reduced noise when operating at lower loads.

• To activate ECO mode, switch the ECO mode switch to the "ON" position. The generator's engine speed will automatically adjust to match the load, saving fuel.
• For full power or when starting high-demand appliances, switch the ECO mode to the "OFF" position.

5.4. Shutting Down the Generator

1. Disconnect all electrical devices from the generator.
2. Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
3. Turn the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
4. Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your generator. Always ensure the generator is off and cool before performing any maintenance.

6.1. Engine Oil Check and Change

• Check: Before each use, check the oil level using the dipstick. Add oil if necessary.
• Change: Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 50-100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Refer to the engine oil section for type and capacity.

6.2. Air Filter Cleaning

• Inspect the air filter every 50 hours or more frequently in dusty conditions.
• Remove the air filter cover and carefully remove the foam filter element.
• Wash the filter element in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to air dry completely. Lightly oil the filter with engine oil before reinstallation.

6.3. Spark Plug Inspection

• Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours or annually.
• Remove the spark plug using the provided spark plug wrench.
• Check for carbon buildup or wear. Clean or replace if necessary. Ensure the gap is correct according to specifications.

6.4. Storage

• For long-term storage (over 30 days), drain the fuel tank and carburetor, or use a fuel stabilizer.
• Change the engine oil.
• Clean the exterior of the generator.
• Store in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
