1. Introduction

The Srutueo F12 is a 3-axis handheld gimbal designed to stabilize smartphones for video recording, vlogging, and photography. It features an anti-shake system to ensure smooth footage and includes functions like AI tracking, a magnetic fill light, and gesture control. This manual provides instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your device.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Gimbal

Before first use, fully charge the gimbal using the provided charging cable. The power indicator lights will show the charging status.

3.2 Mounting Your Smartphone

  1. Extend the phone clamp on the gimbal.
  2. Carefully place your smartphone into the clamp, ensuring it is centered and secure.
  3. Adjust the phone's position to achieve a balanced state. The phone should remain level when the gimbal is powered off.

3.3 Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power switch button for 2 seconds to power the gimbal on or off. The power indicator lights will illuminate when the device is on.

3.4 Bluetooth Connection

  1. Ensure the gimbal is powered on.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
  3. Search for available devices and select 'F12' (or similar name) to pair.
  4. The Bluetooth indicator light on the gimbal will confirm a successful connection.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Control Panel Overview

Refer to Figure 3.2 for the location of the control buttons.

  • Mode Key: Single click to cycle through the four working modes. Double-click to return the mobile phone to its initial position.
  • Power Switch: Single click to switch between horizontal and vertical screen orientation. Press and hold for 2 seconds to power on/off.
  • Zoom In/Out Button: Used for digital zoom within the connected application.
  • Bluetooth Indicator: Indicates Bluetooth connection status.
  • Power Indicator Lights: Show the current battery level.

4.2 Gimbal Modes

The F12 gimbal offers four primary stabilization modes:

  • First View Mode: Provides dynamic camera movement, following your perspective.
  • Full Lock Mode: Locks all three axes, keeping the camera fixed on a single point regardless of gimbal movement.
  • Full Follow Mode: All three axes follow the gimbal's movement smoothly.
  • Semi-Follow Mode: Typically follows pan and tilt movements while locking the roll axis.

4.3 AI Tracking Module

The gimbal features an independent AI tracking module for automatic subject tracking.

This module supports face tracking and gesture control. The powerful AI chip and ultra-wide-angle face recognition ensure accurate tracking.

4.4 Magnetic Fill Light & Gesture Recognition

  • Fill Light On/Off: Long press the dedicated button.
  • Adjust Fill Light: Click the button to cycle through 9 levels of brightness and different light modes.
  • Gesture Recognition On/Off: Single click the gesture recognition button.
  • Face Recognition On/Off: Double-click the gesture recognition button.

Indicator Lights for Recognition:

  • Green Light:
    • Off: Face recognition function is disabled.
    • Blinking Slowly: Face recognition function is enabled, but no face is recognized.
    • Solid: Face recognition function is enabled and a face is recognized.
  • Blue Light:
    • Off: Gesture recognition function is disabled.
    • Solid: Gesture recognition function is enabled.
    • Blinking 3 times: Gesture recognition is enabled and recognized.
    • Blinking: The gimbal is connected to the module via Bluetooth.

4.5 Folding and Carrying

The gimbal is designed for easy folding and portability. Folding or expanding takes only one step.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the gimbal with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the device.

5.2 Storage

Store the gimbal in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the gimbal is powered off before storage. For long-term storage, it is recommended to charge the battery to about 50% every three months to prolong battery life.

5.3 Battery Care

The gimbal provides up to 5 hours of battery life on a full charge. To maintain optimal battery performance, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently and do not leave it uncharged for extended periods.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Gimbal not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds.
  • Unstable footage: Ensure the smartphone is properly balanced in the clamp. Check that the gimbal is in the correct operating mode for your desired movement.
  • Bluetooth connection issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the gimbal and your smartphone. Try restarting both devices and re-pairing.
  • AI tracking not working: Check the green indicator light (Figure 4.4) to confirm face recognition is enabled and a face is detected. Ensure sufficient lighting.
  • Fill light not responding: Check the battery level. Ensure the fill light button is pressed correctly (long press for on/off, single click for adjustment).
