1. Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the VIMIN 8-Port 2.5G PoE Switch with 2x 10G SFP Ports. This unmanaged switch is designed to facilitate network expansion and device connectivity, offering 8 Power over Ethernet (PoE+) ports operating at 100/1000/2500Mbps and two 10 Gigabit SFP ports for high-speed fiber connections. It supports IEEE 802.3af/at standards and includes features such as 6KV lightning protection and a fanless design.

3.2 Indicator Lights
The switch is equipped with LED indicators to display its operational status:
- Link/Act (Ports 1-8): Yellow light indicates 10/100/1000/2500Mbps link. Flickering indicates data transmission. Off means no link.
- 2.5G Link (Ports 1-8): Green light indicates a 2.5G link. Off means the link is unavailable or at a lower speed.
- 10G SFP (Ports 9-10): Green light indicates 1G/2.5G/10G link. Flickering indicates data transmission.
- PoE (Ports 1-8): Indicates PoE power status.
- PWR (Power): Red light indicates the device is powered on. Off means the device is powered off.

4. Setup Instructions
The VIMIN 8-Port 2.5G PoE Switch is unmanaged and designed for plug-and-play operation, requiring no complex configuration.
- Connect Power: Connect the provided power cable to the AC power input on the rear of the switch and then to a power outlet. The PWR indicator light will illuminate.
- Connect Network Devices:
- For PoE-compatible devices (e.g., IP cameras, wireless access points), connect them to any of the 8 PoE+ RJ45 ports (Ports 1-8) using standard Ethernet cables. The switch will automatically provide power and data.
- For non-PoE network devices (e.g., computers, NAS), connect them to any of the 8 RJ45 ports.
- For high-speed fiber connections, insert compatible 1G/2.5G/10G SFP modules (not included) into the 10G SFP ports (Ports 9-10) and connect fiber optic cables.
- Verify Connection: Check the Link/Act and 2.5G Link (for RJ45 ports) or 10G SFP (for SFP ports) indicator lights to confirm active network connections.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Network Speed and Cable Compatibility
The 2.5G RJ45 ports support data transfer rates of 100/1000/2500Mbps. The 10G SFP ports support 1G/2.5G/10G speeds. The switch is compatible with standard Ethernet cable types:
- CAT5e
- CAT6
- CAT6a

5.2 PoE+ Functionality
The 8 PoE+ ports comply with IEEE 802.3af/at standards, delivering up to 30W of power per port. The total PoE power budget for the switch is 150W. This allows for powering compatible devices directly through the Ethernet cable. Note that this switch does not support passive PoE.
5.3 Device Compatibility
The switch is compatible with a range of devices, including 2.5Gbps NAS, 4K PoE cameras, gaming PCs, 2.5G servers, 2.5G WiFi6 APs, and PCIe adapters.

6. Maintenance
The VIMIN PoE switch is designed for minimal maintenance. Its fanless construction reduces moving parts and noise. The built-in 6KV lightning protection helps safeguard connected devices from electrical surges.

Keep the device in a well-ventilated area and avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. Regularly check cable connections for security.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the switch and a working power outlet. Check the PWR indicator light.
- No Link: Verify that Ethernet cables are properly connected to both the switch and the network device. Check the Link/Act and 2.5G Link indicators for the respective port. Ensure the connected device is powered on and functioning correctly.
- No PoE Output: Confirm that the connected device is PoE-compatible (IEEE 802.3af/at). Check the PoE indicator light for the port. Ensure the total power consumption of all PoE devices does not exceed the 150W budget.
- Slow Speed: Ensure that connected devices and cables support 2.5G or 10G speeds. Use CAT5e, CAT6, or CAT6a cables for optimal performance.
- SFP Port Issues: Ensure the SFP module is correctly inserted and compatible with the switch. Verify the fiber optic cable is properly connected and undamaged.
As an unmanaged switch, there are no software configurations to adjust. Most issues are related to physical connections or device compatibility.
