1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the COOLHOOD 15.6-inch Portable Monitor. This monitor is designed to provide a high-quality visual experience with its Full HD IPS panel, wide color gamut, and versatile connectivity options. Its lightweight and slim design make it ideal for both professional and entertainment use on the go. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your new portable monitor.

2. Key Features

• IPS Panel & Full HD Support: Features an excellent IPS liquid crystal panel for high-quality image and color reproduction. A 178-degree wide viewing angle minimizes distortion and color shift, ensuring beautiful images from any perspective. Supports 1920x1080 Full HD resolution and HDR for vibrant visuals with minimal white washout or black crush.

• Single Cable for Video Output and Power Supply & Wide Device Compatibility: Connects to compatible PCs and smartphones via a single Type-C cable for both video and power. (Note: If your device's Type-C port does not support Thunder 3/4 or higher, an additional power cable connection is required). Supports a wide range of devices including laptops, desktops, smartphones, PS4/PS5, XBOX, Switch, Macbook, MacMini, and iPad (with Type-C port mode).

3. Setup

3.1 Package Contents

Before setup, please ensure all items are present:

• COOLHOOD 15.6-inch Portable Monitor
• USB-C to USB-C Cable
• Mini HDMI to HDMI Cable
• USB-A to USB-C Power Cable
• Power Adapter
• Protective Cover/Stand

3.2 Connecting Your Device

The monitor offers flexible connectivity options. Identify the ports on your device and the monitor to choose the appropriate connection method.

1. Using a Single Type-C Cable (for compatible devices):
   • Connect one end of the USB-C to USB-C cable to your device's full-featured Type-C port (supporting video output and power delivery, e.g., Thunderbolt 3/4).
   • Connect the other end to either of the Type-C ports on the monitor.
   • If your device's Type-C port does not supply enough power or does not support video output, connect the monitor to an external power source using the USB-A to USB-C power cable and power adapter.

2. Using HDMI and Type-C Power:
   • Connect one end of the Mini HDMI to HDMI cable to your device's HDMI port.
   • Connect the Mini HDMI end to the Mini HDMI port on the monitor.
   • Connect the USB-A to USB-C power cable to one of the monitor's Type-C ports and the USB-A end to the power adapter, then plug into a wall outlet. This connection requires external power for the monitor.

Once connected, the monitor should automatically detect the signal. If not, you may need to manually select the input source in the monitor's settings.

4. Operating the Monitor

4.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power button (usually labeled with a power symbol or integrated with the menu button) to turn the monitor on or off.

4.2 On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu

The OSD menu allows you to adjust various display settings. Use the control buttons on the side of the monitor to navigate the menu.

• Power Button/Menu Navigation: Often, the power button doubles as a menu navigation button. Press it to open the OSD menu.
• Up/Down Buttons: Use these to navigate through menu options or adjust values.
• Enter/Confirm Button: Press to select an option or confirm a setting.

Common adjustable settings include:

• Brightness and Contrast

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning the Screen:
  • Always power off and unplug the monitor before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a screen-cleaning solution.
  • Do not spray liquid directly onto the screen.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, alcohol, or ammonia-based solutions.
• Cleaning the Casing:
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the casing.
  • For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
• Storage:
  • When not in use, store the monitor in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Use the provided protective cover to prevent scratches and dust accumulation.
