3. Important Safety Instructions

Read all instructions carefully before installation. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire, or other injuries. Keep these instructions for future reference.

  • Always disconnect power at the main circuit breaker or fuse box before installing, servicing, or cleaning the fixture.
  • Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about the installation process or have any electrical questions.
  • Ensure all electrical connections comply with local codes and ordinances.
  • Do not exceed the maximum wattage specified for the bulbs (60W incandescent per socket).
  • Handle glass components with care to prevent breakage.
  • This fixture is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose to water or excessive moisture.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves during installation.

4. Installation Guide

Tools Required:

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Wire strippers
  • Pliers
  • Electrical tape
  • Ladder

Step-by-Step Installation:

  1. Prepare for Installation: Turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box to the outlet box where the fixture will be installed. Ensure the mounting surface is structurally sound to support the fixture's weight (approximately 11.2 lbs).
  2. Attach Mounting Strap: Secure the mounting strap to the outlet box using the screws provided. Ensure it is firmly attached.
  3. Determine Chain Length: Hold the fixture in place to estimate the desired hanging height. Open a link on the 36-inch chain using pliers, remove any excess chain, and then securely close the link.
  4. Connect Wires: Carefully connect the fixture's wires to the supply wires from the outlet box.
    • Connect the black (live) wire from the fixture to the black (live) wire from the outlet box.
    • Connect the white (neutral) wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the outlet box.
    • Connect the bare copper or green (ground) wire from the fixture to the bare copper or green (ground) wire from the outlet box.
Use wire nuts to secure all connections and wrap them with electrical tape for added safety.
  5. Secure Canopy: Carefully slide the canopy up to the ceiling, covering the outlet box and wiring. Secure it to the mounting strap using the provided hardware.
  6. Install Glass Shades: Gently place each of the six clear glass shades onto its designated socket holder on the fixture. Ensure they are seated properly.
  7. Install Bulbs: Insert six E12 base bulbs (not included) into the sockets. Do not exceed 60 watts per bulb. For LED bulbs, refer to the bulb manufacturer's specifications.
  8. Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are secure, turn on power at the circuit breaker.

5. Operating Your Chandelier

The KICHLER Crosby Chandelier operates using a standard wall switch connected to the fixture's electrical circuit.

Dimmable Feature: This fixture is designed to be dimmable when used with a compatible dimmer switch (sold separately). If using LED bulbs, ensure that both the bulbs and the dimmer switch are rated for LED dimming to prevent flickering or damage. Consult the LED bulb manufacturer's specifications for dimming compatibility.

6. Care and Maintenance

Proper care will ensure the longevity and appearance of your chandelier.

  • Cleaning: Always disconnect power before cleaning. Wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes, as they may damage the brushed nickel finish. The clear glass shades are removable for easier cleaning; they can be gently washed with mild soap and water, then dried thoroughly before reinstallation.
  • Bulb Replacement: Ensure power is off and bulbs have cooled completely before attempting to replace them. Use only E12 base bulbs, up to 60W incandescent, or equivalent LED bulbs.
