1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Comfort Zone 18-inch Tower Space Heater. This electric heater is designed to provide efficient and safe supplemental heating for various indoor spaces. Featuring PTC ceramic heating technology, dual heat settings, 60-degree oscillation, and multiple safety features, this unit offers customizable comfort and peace of mind.

2. Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, read all instructions before using this heater.

  • Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
  • This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handles when moving this heater.
  • Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and away from the sides and rear.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
  • Always unplug heater when not in use.
  • Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return heater to authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
  • Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  • This heater includes a Tip-Over Safety Switch which automatically shuts off the heater if it is accidentally knocked over.
  • This heater is equipped with an Overheat Protection Sensor that automatically turns off the heater if it overheats.

3. Setup

The Comfort Zone CZ12822 Tower Space Heater comes fully assembled and ready for use. No additional assembly is required.

  1. Place the heater on a firm, level surface. Ensure it is at least 3 feet (0.9 meters) away from walls, furniture, and other combustible materials.
  2. Plug the power cord directly into a 120V AC, 60Hz wall outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.
  3. Ensure the power switch on the back of the unit is in the ON position.

4. Operating Instructions

The heater features two control knobs on the top panel for easy operation.

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Ensure the heater is plugged into a suitable electrical outlet.
  • Locate the main power switch on the back of the unit and turn it to the ON position.

4.2 Setting the Heat Mode and Fan

Use the right-hand knob (Mode Select) to choose your desired operating mode:

  • OFF: Turns the heater off.
  • FAN ONLY: Activates the fan without heat, providing a refreshing breeze.
  • LOW HEAT (I): Provides 900 watts of gentle heat.
  • HIGH HEAT (II): Provides 1500 watts of powerful heat.

4.3 Adjusting the Thermostat

Use the left-hand knob (Adjustable Thermostat) to set your desired room temperature:

  • Turn the knob clockwise towards 'MAX' for higher temperatures.
  • Turn the knob counter-clockwise towards 'MIN' for lower temperatures.
  • The heater will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.

4.4 Oscillation Function

To activate the 60-degree wide oscillation feature:

  • Select either LOW HEAT (I) or HIGH HEAT (II) mode.
  • Turn the Mode Select knob to the setting that includes the swing mode icon (usually indicated by an arrow icon).
  • The heater will begin to oscillate, distributing warmth evenly across the room.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and efficient operation of your heater.

5.1 Cleaning

  • Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to clean dust from the air intake and exhaust grilles.
  • Never immerse the heater in water or allow water to drip into the interior.

5.2 Storage

  • Store the heater in its original carton in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid storing in areas where the power cord could be damaged.

6. Troubleshooting

If your heater is not operating correctly, please refer to the following common issues and solutions:
