5. Setup

5.1. Battery Charging

1. Connect the Bivolt charger to a standard 110V or 220V power outlet.
2. Insert the 48V battery into the charger. Ensure a secure connection.
3. Allow the battery to charge for approximately 6 to 8 hours for a full charge. The charger typically has an indicator light to show charging status.
4. Once fully charged, disconnect the battery from the charger and the charger from the power outlet.

5.2. Chain and Guide Bar Installation

Before installation, ensure the battery is removed from the chainsaw.

1. Remove the chain cover by loosening the retaining nut.
2. Carefully place the saw chain around the guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges are facing the correct direction (refer to markings on the chain).
3. Fit the guide bar and chain onto the chainsaw's drive sprocket.
4. Replace the chain cover and lightly tighten the retaining nut. Do not fully tighten yet.
5. Adjust the chain tension. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. There should be a small amount of play (approx. 2-3mm) when pulled away from the guide bar.
6. Once the tension is correct, fully tighten the retaining nut.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Starting and Stopping

1. Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely installed in the chainsaw.
2. Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
3. To start, press the safety lock button (if present) and then squeeze the trigger switch. The chain will begin to move.
4. To stop, release the trigger switch. The chain will stop rotating.

6.2. Cutting Techniques

Always maintain a stable stance and clear footing.

• Small Branches: For small branches, use a single, smooth cutting motion.
• Larger Branches: For thicker branches, make a relief cut on the underside first to prevent pinching, then complete the cut from the top.
• Avoid Kickback: Be aware of the kickback zone (the upper quadrant of the guide bar tip). Avoid cutting with this area.
• Do Not Force: Allow the chainsaw to do the work. Do not apply excessive pressure, as this can strain the motor and cause the chain to bind.

7. Maintenance
