4. Safety Information

WARNING: Electrical installation should only be performed by qualified personnel. Incorrect installation can lead to electric shock, fire, or other hazards. Always disconnect power before installing or servicing the device.

  • Ensure all local and national electrical codes are followed.
  • Do not operate the device if it appears damaged.
  • Keep the device away from water and excessive moisture.
  • The current transformers (CTs) must be installed with the arrow pointing towards the load (away from the power source).

5. Installation

The energy meter is designed for DIN rail mounting. Follow these steps for proper installation.

5.1. Physical Installation Steps

  1. Install the Monitor: Attach the energy meter to a standard DIN rail by pushing it down until it clicks into place.
  2. Install the Current Transformers (CTs): For each circuit you wish to monitor, open a current transformer and clamp it around the live wire (L1, L2, L3). Ensure the arrow on the CT points in the direction of the current flow towards the load.
  3. Install the Current Transformer Connectors: Insert the wires from the CTs into the designated screw terminals on the energy meter.
  4. Install the Voltage Connector: Connect the main power lines (L and N for 1P+N, or L1, L2, L3 and N for 3P+N) to the voltage input terminals on the energy meter.

5.2. Wiring Diagrams

Refer to the following diagrams for correct wiring configurations for 3P+N and 1P+N systems.

Wiring diagrams for 3P+N and 1P+N systems. The 3P+N diagram shows L1, L2, L3, and N connected to an upstream protection device, with three current transformers on L1, L2, L3, and the meter connected to all phases and neutral. The 1P+N diagram shows L and N connected to an upstream protection device, with three current transformers on three separate circuits, and the meter connected to L and N.

6. Setup

The Yasorn eMylo Zigbee Energy Meter requires a Zigbee gateway (purchased separately) and the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app for full functionality.

  1. Install Zigbee Gateway: Set up your Zigbee gateway according to its own instructions.
  2. Download App: Download and install the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' app on your smartphone from your app store.
  3. Pair Device: Open the app, add a new device, and follow the in-app instructions to pair your energy meter with the Zigbee gateway. It may be necessary to bring the gateway close to the meter during the pairing process. The device supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for connectivity through the gateway.

7. Operation

Once installed and paired, you can monitor your energy consumption and receive notifications through the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app.

7.1. Real-time Monitoring

The app provides real-time data on voltage, current, power, and total energy consumption for each monitored circuit.

8. Maintenance

The Yasorn eMylo Energy Meter requires minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure its longevity and accurate operation:

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Regularly check the wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion. Inspect the current transformers for any physical damage.
  • Firmware Updates: Keep the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app updated, as it may include firmware updates for the energy meter that improve performance and stability.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your energy meter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device Not Connecting/Frequent Disconnections:
    • Ensure your Zigbee gateway is powered on and within range of the energy meter.
    • Verify your Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz only) is stable and the gateway is connected.
    • If installed in a metal electrical box, signal interference might occur. Try repositioning the gateway or using a Zigbee repeater.
    • Check for app or device firmware updates.
  • Inaccurate Readings:
    • Confirm that the current transformers (CTs) are installed correctly, with the arrow pointing towards the load.
    • Ensure all wiring connections are tight and correct according to the diagrams in Section 5.2.
    • If readings are consistently off by a small percentage, it might be a calibration difference. While the device boasts 99% accuracy, minor discrepancies with other meters can occur.
  • No Data in App:
    • Check the device's power supply and ensure it is turned on.
    • Verify the Zigbee connection status in the app.
    • Restart the app and the Zigbee gateway.
  • Overload/Under-voltage Alarms:
    • These are protective notifications. Check the connected appliances for actual overload or voltage issues.
    • You can adjust alarm thresholds or disable specific alarms within the app settings if they are false positives or not desired.
