Installing the Ball Mount into the Receiver

  1. Ensure your vehicle's receiver is clean and free of debris.
  2. Slide the shank of the Geteen Adjustable Trailer Hitch Ball Mount into your vehicle's 2.5-inch receiver.
  3. Align the pinholes on the hitch shank with the pinholes on the receiver.
  4. Insert the hitch pin through the aligned holes and secure it with the provided clip. Ensure the pin is fully engaged.

Adjusting Height and Ball Size

  1. To adjust the height, pull the two stainless steel adjustment pins located on the vertical adjustment bar.
  2. Slide the ball mount assembly up or down to the desired height for level towing.
  3. Re-insert the adjustment pins through the appropriate holes, ensuring they are fully engaged and secured.
  4. To swap between the 2-inch and 2-5/16-inch hitch balls, rotate the ball mount assembly 180 degrees. Ensure the adjustment pins are securely re-inserted after rotation.

Stowing the Hitch

When not towing, the hitch can be stowed under your vehicle to prevent accidental impacts. Simply pull the adjustment pins, rotate the ball mount assembly 180 degrees so the balls face inward towards the vehicle, and re-insert the pins. This keeps the hitch tucked safely away.

It is crucial to adhere to the specified towing capacities to ensure safety and prevent damage to the hitch, vehicle, or trailer.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life and ensure the safe operation of your Geteen Adjustable Trailer Hitch Ball Mount.

  • Regular Inspection: Before each use, inspect the hitch for any signs of wear, cracks, bends, or corrosion. Pay close attention to the hitch balls, pins, and welding points.
  • Cleaning: Clean the hitch regularly, especially after exposure to dirt, salt, or harsh weather conditions. Use mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly.
  • Lubrication: Apply a thin layer of grease to the hitch balls and the adjustment pins periodically to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust.
  • Corrosion Protection: The hitch features an e-coat and black powder coat for corrosion resistance. Avoid scratching or damaging this coating. If damage occurs, touch up with rust-inhibiting paint.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the hitch in a dry place. If left on the vehicle, utilize the stowable feature to protect it from elements and accidental impacts.
