1. Introduction

3. Setup & Installation

The FITNATE HS0434 Smart Door Knob is designed for straightforward installation. Please follow these steps carefully. A screwdriver is required for installation.

3.1. Prepare the Door

  1. Check Door Dimensions: Ensure your door meets the required specifications for installation. Refer to the provided installation card or the image below for hole diameter, door thickness, and backset measurements.

  3. Remove Existing Hardware: If replacing an existing door knob, remove the old hardware, including the interior knob, exterior knob, and latch.

3.2. Install the Latch

  1. Insert the latch into the door edge hole. Ensure it is oriented correctly with the bevel facing the door frame.
  2. Secure the latch with the provided screws.

3.3. Install Exterior Door Handle

  1. Align the exterior door handle with the latch and the door hole.
  2. Carefully pass the spindle through the latch mechanism.

3.4. Install Interior Door Handle

  1. Pass the power cord from the exterior handle through the rear door handle.
  2. Secure the interior door handle to the exterior handle using the long screws.

3.5. Install Batteries

  1. Remove the battery cover from the interior knob.
  2. Insert four (4) AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/- terminals).
  3. Connect the power cord to the battery compartment.
  4. Replace the battery cover.

4. Operation

The FITNATE HS0434 Smart Door Knob offers multiple ways to unlock and manage access.

4.1. App Control (Tuya Smart App)

  1. Download the App: Scan the QR code below or search for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

  2. Create Account & Log In: Open the app and follow the prompts to create your account and log in.
  3. Connect the Lock:
    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
    • In the app, click the "+" icon in the upper right corner to add a device.
    • Touch the fingerprint screen of the lock to enable Bluetooth for easier connection.
    • Select the discovered device (e.g., "JB-ZAM") and click "Add".
    • Wait for successful connection. You can rename the lock for easy identification.
  4. Unlock/Lock via App: On the app's main screen, hold and drag the unlock icon to unlock or lock the door.
  5. Add Fingerprint:
    • Go to "Member Management" and choose "Admin" or another user.
    • Click "Fingerprint" and then "Add".
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to register your fingerprint by repeatedly placing your finger on the sensor.

  6. Add Password:
    • In "Member Management", click "Code" and then "Add".
    • Enter a 6-10 digit password.

  7. Add One-Time Password: Click "Temporary Code" and choose the code type (e.g., Time-Limited, One-Time, Dynamic, Custom) to set a temporary password.
  8. Mute Lock Volume: Go to "More" settings in the app and select "Mute" for the lock volume.
  9. Passage Mode: Enable "Passage Mode" in the app settings. When enabled, the lock will remain in the normally open state after unlocking, allowing frequent access without re-entry.
  10. Unlock History: View a record of when the lock was opened and by which user. Access this by entering the lock page and clicking "Unlock Record" at the bottom.
  11. Low Battery Reminder: The app will display a low battery reminder. Replace batteries within a week to ensure proper lock function. The door lock requires four LR6/AA/1.5V alkaline batteries.

4.2. Mechanical Key Unlock

In case of battery depletion or other issues, the door can always be unlocked using the provided physical keys. The keyhole is located on the exterior knob.

4.3. Emergency Power (USB Type-C)

If the batteries are completely drained and you do not have the physical key, the door knob supports emergency power via a USB Type-C port. Connect a power bank or USB-C charger to the port on the exterior knob to temporarily power the lock and use fingerprint or keypad entry.

5. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace all four AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears in the app or on the lock. Use high-quality alkaline batteries for optimal performance.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the door knob with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish and electronic components.
  • Fingerprint Sensor: Keep the fingerprint sensor clean and dry for accurate recognition.
  • Keypad: Ensure the keypad is free from dirt or debris.

6. Troubleshooting
