Important Safeguards

Setup and Assembly
Stand Mixer Assembly
- Place the mixer on a clean, dry, and stable surface. Ensure the anti-slip feet are securely positioned.
- Press the Rise Button to lift the tilt-head.
- Place the stainless steel mixing bowl onto the base, twisting it clockwise until it locks into place.
- Select the desired attachment (whisk, dough hook, or flat beater). Align the attachment with the shaft and push upwards, then rotate counter-clockwise until it locks.
- Lower the tilt-head by pressing the Rise Button again and gently pushing the head down until it clicks into place.
- Attach the splash bowl cover by aligning it over the bowl and rotating until secure.
Meat Grinder Attachment Assembly
- Ensure the mixer is unplugged.
- Remove the front cover from the mixer's attachment hub.
- Assemble the meat grinder components: insert the auger into the grinder housing, then place the cutting blade, followed by the desired grinding plate. Secure with the locking ring.
- Insert the assembled grinder attachment into the mixer's attachment hub, aligning the square drive shaft with the hub's opening. Rotate until it locks into place.
- Place the feeding tray on top of the grinder housing.

Operating Instructions
Using the Stand Mixer
- Ensure the mixer is properly assembled and plugged into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Add ingredients to the mixing bowl.
- Use the LED touch screen to select your desired mode:
- Quick Mode: Pre-set programs for common tasks.
- Self-Setting Mode: Manually adjust speed and time.
- Adjust the speed using the control knob. The mixer offers 11 speed options for various mixing needs, from gentle stirring to high-speed whipping.
- Monitor the mixing process through the clear splash cover.
- To stop the mixer, turn the speed knob to '0' or press the pause button on the display.
- To remove the bowl or change attachments, press the Rise Button to lift the tilt-head.

Using the Meat Grinder Attachment
- Ensure the meat grinder attachment is securely installed on the mixer.
- Prepare meat by cutting it into small pieces that fit into the feeding tray opening. Remove any bones or tough sinews.
- Select the appropriate grinding plate (crude, medium, or fine) based on your recipe.
- Turn the mixer on to a low to medium speed (typically speed 3-5).
- Place meat into the feeding tray and use the pusher to gently guide it into the grinder. Do not force the meat.
- Collect the ground meat in a bowl placed under the grinder's output.
- For sausage making, replace the grinding plate and cutting blade with the sausage stuffer attachment. Feed prepared sausage mixture into the grinder, guiding the casing onto the stuffer tube.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your HAUSWIRT M5 Stand Mixer and its attachments.
Cleaning the Main Unit
- Always unplug the mixer before cleaning.
- Wipe the motor base and tilt-head with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor base in water.
- Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Cleaning Attachments and Bowl
- The stainless steel mixing bowl, whisk, dough hook, and flat beater are dishwasher safe.
- For manual cleaning, wash in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry immediately.
Cleaning the Meat Grinder Attachment
- Disassemble the meat grinder attachment immediately after use.
- Wash all components (housing, auger, blade, plates, locking ring, feeding tray, pusher, sausage stuffer) in warm, soapy water. Use a brush to remove any food residue.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry all parts completely to prevent rust, especially the metal grinding plates and blade.
- The meat grinder attachment components are generally dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for metal parts to preserve their sharpness and finish.
