1. Introduction

The Roxicosly CR1009Ultra is a multi-functional emergency weather radio designed for reliable communication and power in various situations, including emergencies and outdoor activities. It features multiple power sources, comprehensive radio band reception, and integrated lighting and alert functions.

3. Safety Instructions

  • Do not expose the radio to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or high humidity.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting the radio to severe impacts.
  • Keep the device away from water, although it has a waterproof rating, prolonged submersion is not recommended.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the radio. This will void the warranty and may cause damage.
  • Use only the provided USB cable or a certified equivalent for charging.
  • When using AAA batteries, ensure correct polarity and do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.
  • The SOS alarm is loud; avoid activating it near your ears.

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the internal 12000mAh rechargeable battery using the provided Type-C USB cable. Connect the Type-C end to the radio's charging port and the USB-A end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or computer port.

4.2 AAA Battery Installation

For an alternative power source, the radio supports 3 AAA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment cover, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators, and close the cover securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the POWER button to turn the radio on or off.

5.2 Radio Functions (AM/FM/SW/NOAA)

Extend the telescopic antenna for optimal reception. Press the BAND button to cycle through AM, FM, SW, and NOAA weather bands.

  • Tuning: Use the TUNE + and TUNE - buttons to manually adjust the frequency.
  • Volume: Adjust the volume using the VOL + and VOL - buttons.
  • NOAA Weather Alert: The radio automatically scans and accesses 7 NOAA weather channels. Activate the WX Alert feature by pressing the WX ALERT button to receive critical weather warnings.

5.3 Lighting Functions

  • Flashlight: Press the flashlight button (usually located on the side) to activate. Press again to cycle through 2 adjustable brightness levels.
  • Reading Lamp: Flip up the integrated reading lamp. Press its dedicated button to cycle through 2 adjustable brightness levels.

5.4 SOS Alarm

In an emergency, press the SOS button to activate a loud siren and flashing red light, designed to attract attention. Press the button again to deactivate.

5.5 LCD Display

The large LCD screen displays essential information including battery status, current radio band, frequency, and time. Use the SET TIME button to adjust the clock.

5.6 Headphone Jack

Connect 3.5mm headphones to the headphone jack for private listening.

5.7 Lock Function

Press the LOCK button to prevent accidental button presses, useful when carrying the radio in a backpack.

6. Charging the Radio

The Roxicosly CR1009Ultra offers five methods to ensure continuous power:

  • Built-in Rechargeable Battery: The primary power source, charged via Type-C USB.
  • Type-C Charging: Connect the provided USB cable to a power adapter. This is the main charging method for daily use.
  • Solar Charging: Place the radio with the solar panel facing direct sunlight. This method is suitable for maintaining charge or slow charging in emergencies.
  • Hand-Crank Charging: Rotate the hand-crank handle clockwise or counter-clockwise at a steady pace to generate power. This is an emergency charging method.
  • AAA Batteries: Insert 3 AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment.

6.1 Charging External Devices

The radio's 12000mAh battery can act as a power bank. Connect your smartphone or other USB-powered devices to the radio's USB output port using your device's charging cable.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the radio with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for extended periods, ensure the internal battery is partially charged (around 50%) and recharge it every 3-6 months to prolong battery life.
  • Battery Care: If using AAA batteries, remove them if the radio will not be used for a long time to prevent leakage.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Radio not turning on: Ensure the internal battery is charged or insert fresh AAA batteries.
  • Poor radio reception: Fully extend the telescopic antenna. Try repositioning the radio or moving to an open area.
  • Device not charging from USB output: Ensure the radio has sufficient power. Check the connection cable and the external device.
  • Solar charging is slow: Solar charging is supplementary. Ensure the solar panel is in direct sunlight and clean.
  • Hand-crank not charging: Ensure the crank is rotated at a consistent speed.
